To collect Specimen: Bread, search the white auto-vending machines in Aberrant Zone 1. One guide describes a route to two machines near a warehouse gate: the first is guarded by an enemy, while the second is reached by circling behind the gate. Check the active objective before heading out, since the required amount depends on what you are completing.

What Specimen: Bread is used for

Specimen: Bread is an Etchspace collectible found in white auto-vending machines in Aberrant Zone 1. It can count toward Exploration R&D objectives and be submitted for commissions, according to the END Wiki item entry.

The END Wiki lists a requirement of six for Exploration R&D: Stable Protocols 3, and two for Stable Protocols 2. Nerd’s Chalk says the two machines on its route each provide three pieces; treat that as the guide’s description of those pickups, not a confirmed total for every map context.

Follow the warehouse-gate route

  1. Confirm the objective. Open or pin the active mission and verify that it calls for Specimen: Bread. Nerd’s Chalk recommends checking the objective before searching. Games Fuze reports that the item seems to appear only when required; that is the guide’s observation, not confirmed game documentation.
  2. Enter Aberrant Zone 1 and find the warehouse gate. Go through the gate, then turn left toward the first white vending machine described by Nerd’s Chalk.
  3. Deal with the guard and collect. An enemy guards this machine. Defeat it, then interact with the vending machine.
  4. Return to the gate and reach the second machine. Go left again and circle around behind to the other machine on Nerd’s Chalk’s route. The guide reports no enemy guarding this location; interact with the machine to collect its pieces.
  5. Check your objective before leaving. Confirm the mission counter or commission requirement in-game. The cited guides do not establish a respawn schedule or reset behavior.

Other map descriptions and route limits

The guides do not describe the locations consistently enough to conclude that the warehouse route covers every possible pickup. Game8’s item entries place Specimen: Bread in both Valley’s Aberrants and Lower Passage Area; its descriptions include a room near a shed east of the starting zone and a southeastern corner. Games Fuze describes one machine in a building south of the zone center and another in the southeastern corner of the northern half.

Those references could reflect different subareas, map contexts, or coverage by each guide; the available descriptions do not establish which. If the warehouse stops do not satisfy your objective, use the named landmarks and map context shown by your active mission rather than assuming the two-machine route is exhaustive.
