Yes—ARMA Reforger supports community mods on PS5. The Workshop arrived with update 1.4 on May 22, 2025, and PS5 has a 25 GB allocation for mod downloads. You can browse content in the in-game Workshop or download a server’s required mods when joining multiplayer; you cannot skip individual items from that server’s required set.
What PS5 players can get from the Workshop
Bohemia Interactive’s May 22, 2025 update 1.4 announcement introduced the in-game Workshop to Sony players. It lists community-created game modes, weapons, vehicles, factions, terrains, and other content. These are community-made additions, not all developer-created or developer-tested material.

How to download and play mods on PS5
Browse and download content
- Open ARMA Reforger on PS5 and enter the in-game Workshop.
- Browse or filter the available content, then select a mod to download it.
- For solo play, look for playable additions in the Scenarios menu. Some Workshop assets are intended for creating scenarios or terrains in Workbench rather than direct play.
Bohemia also identifies an online Workshop, but its PS5 instructions describe using the in-game Workshop.

Join a modded multiplayer server
- Open the Server Browser and choose a server.
- Review the server’s required mod list and the remaining download shown by the game.
- Allow the required mods to download. If you do not already have them, the game downloads them before joining; if the server is full, you may be queued after the downloads complete.
A server’s required mods are a set: the official mod-use guide says players cannot selectively omit an item and still join that server. Mod versions can differ between servers, which may trigger additional downloads.
PS5 mod storage: the 25 GB limit
Bohemia specifies a 25 GB allocation for PS5 mod downloads in the update 1.4.0.22 changelog and discusses the same PS5 limit in its May 23, 2025 technical statement. This is the Workshop allocation, not a statement about total free space on the console. The sources do not say that an external storage device expands this allocation.

Version 4.0 of the Remote Play App on iOS and iPadOS or version 4.1 on macOS is required for games to be playable with the controller over Bluetooth.
Because a server may require a large collection of mods, check its requirements against your remaining allocation before waiting for downloads. If the set will not fit, choose a server with requirements that do. Xbox has a separately stated 50 GB allocation in the June 3, 2025 guide; that figure does not apply to PS5.
When mod downloads are slow or fail
Bohemia’s May 2025 technical statement and mod-use guide describe launch-period download problems linked to high demand. The developer also says console SSD write restrictions can make repeated large mod downloads slow. These explanations do not establish that the same service conditions persist today, and the sources give no measured download time.

- If one mod fails: let the current operation finish, then retry that failed item individually in Mod Manager.
- Avoid repeated cancellations, refreshes, or restarts: Bohemia cautioned that these could worsen launch-period download trouble.
- If the problem continues: verify the item and server requirements in the current Workshop and server browser; the cited technical guidance does not establish a universal fix for every present-day error.
When mods cause errors or unexpected behavior
An ADDON_LOAD_ERROR or unusual behavior can indicate incompatible mods. The official guide recommends disabling mods one at a time to isolate the cause. For a question about a particular community mod, contact that mod’s community channels; community servers may also have their own administrators and rules.
Mods are not guaranteed to perform like base-game content. Bohemia says community creators do not have access to its QA team, and mods may demand more from hardware, causing performance loss or crashes. If an issue appears only with a particular mod set, isolating the mods is a useful first diagnostic step, not proof that the console or game installation is at fault.

Choosing a modded server
Before committing to a server download, compare the details visible in the Workshop and server browser:
- Required download: whether the full set fits within your remaining PS5 allocation.
- Content type: whether the server focuses on a scenario, terrain, faction, vehicles, or other additions you want to play.
- Versions and dependencies: whether the listed requirements match the server’s current mod set.
- Server settings and rules: including its platform or cross-play settings, community expectations, and administrator policies.
Specific mod availability and server compatibility are dynamic; check the live listings rather than assuming that a mod works everywhere.
