VP-20C is the best all-purpose starting generator for most Armored Core 6 PvE builds. It is the safest first choice for a flexible AC, not a universal winner: heavy energy loads, long aerial sequences, frequent EN depletion, and energy firearms can all change which generator fits best. This ranking focuses on general-purpose PvE, and weighs the role of each generator rather than treating old stat tables as definitive current measurements.
How generator stats affect your AC
A generator is not a stand-alone upgrade. EN output determines whether your assembled AC can support its parts; the remaining output after the load is accounted for also affects supply efficiency. EN capacity gives you a larger reserve for repeated EN-consuming actions. Recharge and recovery describe different parts of the cycle, so one high number does not guarantee that a generator will feel quick in every situation.
FromSoftware’s official gameplay tips explain that EN recovery depends on the generator, core, and total part EN burden. Check the assembled AC’s resulting figures after changing parts, rather than choosing by generator label alone.
- EN output: Check that the generator can support the complete build, and consider how much output remains after the parts’ EN load.
- EN capacity: More reserve can support more EN-consuming actions before you need to recover.
- EN recharge and supply recovery: These relate to replenishing EN under different conditions. Ordinary recharge is not the same as recovery after EN has been depleted.
- Weight and specialization: A generator that suits a heavy or energy-weapon build may be a poor fit for a lightweight AC.
All 14 generators, ranked for general-purpose PvE
The order below is an editorial recommendation for a flexible starting build, not a measured benchmark. Your weapon loadout, frame, movement style, and tolerance for EN downtime can reorder it. Part descriptions and comparative references help identify each generator’s role, but published values can reflect older balance states.

-
VP-20C
The strongest default starting point for a broad range of assemblies. Its part description presents it as stable across AC configurations, and its appeal is a rounded profile rather than one extreme stat. Start here, then check the assembled AC’s EN load and recovery behavior.
-
DF-GN-08 SAN-TAI
A strong alternative when you value a large EN reserve and recovery after depletion. Its weight and less exceptional output make it less plug-and-play than VP-20C, but it is worth considering for builds that make meaningful use of capacity.
-
DF-GN-06 MING-TANG
A recharge-oriented option for repeated movement and regular EN use. Bandai Namco’s Regulation 1.07 patch notes include changes to its capacity, recharge, and output, so launch-era figures are not a dependable guide to its current profile.
-
AG-E-013 YABA
A credible flexible choice after multiple balance adjustments. The latest official update raised its EN recharge and output, making old rankings and launch-era comparisons especially liable to mislead.

Armored Core VI Fires of Rubicon - Compatible for PS5 - UK PAL- A new action experience from the makers of Dark Souls and Elden Ring
- Assemble and pilot your own mech
- 3D manoeuvrability to move freely through three-dimensional fast-paced missions
- Take on difficult challenges and overwhelm your enemies
- Please note that although this game is Region Free or Region Unlocked and will work on all systems, this is the international version and may differ from the local version in age rating, labeling or instructions. DLC might not work properly unless proper region is selected.
-
VE-20C
Consider it for high-capacity or demanding assemblies, including energy-weapon builds. Its weight and slower ordinary recharge profile keep it below the more convenient general picks for many players.
-
AG-T-005 HOKUSHI
A high-output option for an AC that can carry its weight. It can suit demanding loads, though it is less attractive as a default if a lighter generator meets the build’s needs. Official patch notes record earlier balance adjustments.
-
VP-20S
A straightforward, comparatively light choice for lighter assemblies. Its mix is more appealing when you do not need a very large reserve; published figures from 2023 may predate later balance changes.
-
IB-C03G: NGI 000
A specialized Coral generator for high-load or depletion-oriented play. Its slow start to recharge makes it less straightforward for routine use, so choose it for a deliberate build plan rather than as a blind upgrade.

【PS5】ARMORED CORE Ⅵ FIRES OF RUBICON- Turn on and burn all
-
VP-20D
Its high output can support energy-hungry assemblies, but the generator’s weight and less favorable recovery profile make it a more specialized choice. Patch 1.09 increased its EN capacity and recharge, so older comparisons may understate its current strengths.
-
VE-20A
A niche candidate for energy-firearm builds rather than a broadly flexible pick. Its specialization is more relevant when your weapons and full AC load are built around it.
-
IA-C01G: AORTA
A Coral-style option for players intentionally building around depletion behavior. It is less intuitive for routine all-purpose use; available roster references establish its place among the generators, but do not provide a current numeric comparison that can be stated confidently here.
-
DF-GN-02 LING-TAI
Its strong supply recovery can appeal to a light or low-load AC that wants to recover quickly after depletion. Low listed output and a small reserve make it a poor match for heavier assemblies.

-
AG-J-098 JOSO
A basic low-output option that can work for early or light assemblies. Its balance history includes official changes, so do not treat an old stat list as a current numeric authority.
-
VE-20B
Ranked last only for broad, general-purpose use. It is specifically aimed at energy firearms, and its lower EN output makes it less forgiving outside a compatible build. For a weapon-focused setup, it can move near the top of the shortlist.
Which generator should you choose?
For a flexible first build
Begin with VP-20C and inspect the full AC’s resulting EN burden and recovery. If the assembly cannot support the intended parts comfortably, compare another generator against the same build rather than comparing generators in isolation.
For energy firearms
Compare energy-firearm specialization as well as EN output and the build’s total load. VE-20B is the most focused option in this roster; NGI 000 and VE-20C are also candidates for specialized or demanding assemblies. Do not assume the general-purpose ranking predicts which generator best supports your weapons.

For aerial movement or repeated boosting
Capacity matters when you repeatedly spend EN on movement, but it is only one part of the choice. Evaluate the generator together with the core and complete part load, and consider both the normal recharge rhythm and what happens if you drain the reserve.
For a light, grounded AC
A lighter generator with suitable recharge behavior may serve better than maximum capacity or output. LING-TAI is a possible low-load specialist, but its limited output can rule it out when the rest of the build demands more EN.
For frequent EN depletion
Compare supply recovery and the generator’s behavior after depletion, not just its ordinary recharge. SAN-TAI and the Coral generators are candidates for this use, but their weight, output, or specialized recovery patterns may impose trade-offs.
Why older generator rankings can disagree
Generator balance changed after launch. Bandai Namco’s official Patch Notes 1.09, dated May 23, 2025, identify Regulation Ver. 1.09.1 and say YABA received increased EN recharge and EN output, while VP-20D received increased EN capacity and EN recharge. Earlier official updates also changed JOSO, YABA, and HOKUSHI, and Regulation 1.07 lists adjustments to several generators, including MING-TANG, LING-TAI, SAN-TAI, and NGI 000.
A full-roster comparison page from Game8, updated November 21, 2025, is useful for seeing the 14 generators side by side, but its figures should be cross-checked against patch history. Some part-specific pages retain older values, while patch notes often describe changes without publishing a consolidated final stat table. For that reason, this ranking uses roles and trade-offs rather than presenting a single precise current-stat table as verified fact.
