Take it to Zalgo the Explorer on Yojamba Isle to exchange it for listed armor pieces. The sources do not establish an exact drop rate or the number of icons each purchase costs, so check the raid and vendor in game for current availability and costs.
Where does the Atal’ai Blood Icon drop?
The icon drops from bosses in the Temple of Atal’Hakkar. The instance is also known as Sunken Temple. Warcraft Wiki identifies the icon as exclusive to Season of Discovery and lists Temple of Atal’Hakkar bosses as its source: Warcraft Wiki item entry.
In Season of Discovery Phase 3, the Temple was revamped as a level-50 raid. Wowhead’s guide describes eight new bosses and revamped loot; it is labeled Patch 1.15.8 and was updated November 29, 2024. Those are the guide’s phase-era details, not confirmation of what is currently live on every realm: Wowhead’s Season of Discovery Temple of Atal’Hakkar guide.
No drop percentage is established by these sources. The stated acquisition route is boss loot in the raid; no alternative route is substantiated.

What is the Atal’ai Blood Icon used for?
Exchange it with Zalgo the Explorer on Yojamba Isle for listed armor rewards. The reward list covers three armor families:
- Banished Martyr’s Plate: armor, boots, and legguards.
- Blood Corrupted: boots, pants, and tunic.
- Corrupted Spiritweaver: breastplate, leggings, and sabatons.
The source listing does not give the icon cost for any reward. Check Zalgo’s vendor interface in game for the exact cost and current availability before deciding what to buy. The item and reward details are listed by Warcraft Wiki.

Which classes can use the icon?
The item record lists Warrior, Paladin, Hunter, Rogue, and Shaman. It is item level 1 and binds on pickup; the item level is not an indication of the strength of the armor you can purchase with it. See the Wowhead item record.
The listed class availability is useful when identifying who can loot or hold the icon, but it does not rank the vendor rewards or establish a best purchase for each class. Compare the armor type and slot you need, then confirm the reward details with the vendor.

Don’t confuse it with Atal’ai Blood Ritual items
The Atal’ai Blood Icon is distinct from similarly named Atal’ai Blood Ritual trinkets, badges, and charms. Make sure the item name is exactly “Atal’ai Blood Icon” when checking your inventory, a loot list, or the vendor exchange.
