What is Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced?
Ubisoft officially titled the remake Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced. In its April 23, 2026 announcement, the publisher described it as “a faithful remake of Assassin’s Creed IV Black Flag.” Ubisoft Singapore led development. The official announcement establishes its identity as a remake, but does not provide a complete feature-by-feature comparison with the 2013 game.

When did Black Flag Resynced come out?
The worldwide release date was July 9, 2026. Ubisoft’s April 23 press announcement set that date, and its launch guide provides release information. The game is now released, not an upcoming title.
Which platforms is it on?

How was the remake first confirmed?
The project had two distinct public milestones. PC Gamer reported that Ubisoft confirmed it in a press email on March 4, 2026, using a teaser that hinted the “whispers” had “a little more wind in their sails.” Ubisoft then made its formal announcement on April 23, naming the game and setting its launch date. The March date comes from PC Gamer’s account of the email; April 23 is the date on Ubisoft’s official press release.

How many copies has it sold?
Ubisoft reported on July 17, 2026, that Black Flag Resynced had sold more than 3 million copies in its first week. This is the publisher’s reported figure, not an independently audited sales total. Ubisoft’s sales announcement contains the claim.
