Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag has been remade as Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced, which launched on July 9, 2026. Ubisoft’s March 2026 franchise update also outlined work on Codename HEXE, Codename Invictus and other projects—but it did not give those future games release dates. Here’s what is confirmed about the remake and what Ubisoft said about the wider series.
What is Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced?
Black Flag Resynced is a ground-up remake of Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag, rebuilt on the latest version of Ubisoft’s Anvil Engine. Ubisoft says it preserves the original game’s core structure while adding new content and updating gameplay and visuals. Ubisoft Singapore led development, according to the publisher’s launch announcement.

Assassin’s Creed Shadows
Ubisoft said Shadows was entering its final phase of support, with updates becoming smaller and less frequent. That describes the company’s statement in March 2026; it does not establish the game’s precise support status in October 2026.
Codename HEXE
Ubisoft described HEXE as a darker, narrative-driven experience set at a pivotal moment in history, in development with a veteran Ubisoft Montreal team. Jean Guesdon had taken the creative director role, and Ubisoft said the team was taking time to deliver its vision. No release date was announced.
Codename Invictus
Invictus is described as a PvP multiplayer Assassin’s Creed experience led by a dedicated team of For Honor veterans at Ubisoft Montreal. Ubisoft said it was progressing with a test-and-learn approach and represented a new approach to multiplayer in the franchise. The company also cautioned that it was not what rumors had suggested. No release date was announced.

Other projects, co-op and the Netflix series
Ubisoft said several other projects were in development at different stages, including Assassin’s Creed Jade. It also said it was looking into bringing co-op back to the series, without confirming a specific game or launch window. The update anticipated more news on the live-action Netflix series soon but gave no release date.
Ubisoft’s guiding statement in the March update was: “What matters most to us is giving each project the time it deserves and releasing them when they are ready.”

For the remake, check Ubisoft’s platform and edition listings and the local retailer offering physical copies in your region.
