The feature Ubisoft later released is the Animus Hub: an in-game entry point that debuted with Assassin’s Creed Shadows on March 20, 2025. Ubisoft says it is integrated into the game, not a separate launcher. Its documented features include a series timeline, story material, challenges, and gameplay-earned rewards; Ubisoft’s later guide describes additional features in Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced.
Infinity was the plan; the Animus Hub is the released feature
In 2022, Ubisoft described Infinity as a centralized location for accessing future Assassin’s Creed games. Executive producer Marc-Alexis Côté also said the concept would carry the franchise’s meta-story, and Ubisoft discussed standalone multiplayer as a possible experience within the planned platform. Côté summarized the idea as: “INFINITY is a centralized hub for Assassin’s Creed games.” Ubisoft’s 2022 remarks describe that early vision, not a complete specification of the product that later shipped.
Ubisoft introduced the Animus Hub as the new home for Assassin’s Creed games, with its debut in Shadows on March 20, 2025. Ubisoft called it an integrated entry point and explicitly stated, “The Animus Hub is not a standalone launcher.” Its launch overview described access to game content, a timeline, additional Shadows questlines, and free rewards.

- Projects: Playable Anomalies.
- Exchange: A place to redeem earned Keys.
- Gallery: Some contemporary-story material.
Ubisoft said the Hub could start installed copies of Assassin’s Creed Mirage, Valhalla, Odyssey, and Origins. It did not support games released before Origins at that time. A physical copy required its disc to be in the console or computer. These are details from Ubisoft’s description of the Shadows launch implementation, not a guarantee that every later game has identical support.
The features described for Black Flag Resynced
Ubisoft’s July 2026 guide describes an expanded Hub in Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced. The sections and activities in that guide include:

Ubisoft describes the Hub as evolving with new games and features; capabilities beyond those it documents should be treated as plans or possibilities, not confirmed shipped features.
Platforms, internet access, and rewards
For the Shadows launch, Ubisoft listed PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Ubisoft+, Amazon Luna, Windows PC, and Mac. Its guide said Memories worked offline, while live features—Projects, Exchange, and Gallery—required an internet connection. Those connection details apply to the implementation Ubisoft described for Shadows; the cited material does not establish that every later game handles offline access the same way.

In 2022, Côté identified the planned multiplayer project as Codename Invictus and described it as a standalone experience within Infinity. Ubisoft’s cited 2025 and 2026 Hub articles do not confirm whether that original integration plan was delivered. The sources establish the plan, but leave its current status unresolved.

What Ubisoft’s figures do and do not measure
Ubisoft said in a January 2025 press release that the Assassin’s Creed series had sold more than 200 million copies since its 2007 debut. Its July 2026 guide described the franchise as having 15 main title games at that time. These are series-level figures, not measures of Animus Hub users, engagement, or revenue; the cited Ubisoft articles provide no Hub-specific player or revenue statistics. Ubisoft’s 2025 press release and 2026 guide provide the respective franchise context.
