Assassin’s Creed Mirage’s free content update is no longer on the way: Ubisoft released Valley of Memory on November 18, 2025. It adds a new story chapter set in AlUla, Saudi Arabia, and Ubisoft describes the update as offering more than six hours of new content. The gameplay changes released alongside it also apply to the main game.
When did the free Mirage update arrive?
Ubisoft announced that Valley of Memory would launch for free on November 18, 2025. That date has passed, so the original “later this year” wording refers to 2025—not a future release window. Ubisoft’s announcement calls it a free release, and its explainer covers the expansion’s setting and scope.

What does Valley of Memory add?
A new story in AlUla
The update adds a story chapter set in AlUla, a historic region in what is now Saudi Arabia. Ubisoft’s explainer details the new setting and chapter; the update is additional content for Mirage, rather than a separate game.
More than six hours of content
Ubisoft described Valley of Memory as bringing “more than six hours of new content.” That is Ubisoft’s stated amount, not a guaranteed playtime for every player or a precise completion-time estimate.

Is the update free, and do you need the base game?
Ubisoft describes the Valley of Memory update as free. That does not mean the base game is free: the announcement establishes the update’s price, not a free offer for Assassin’s Creed Mirage itself.
