The error alone does not establish whether the cause is an item-specific issue or a broader service problem.
What error 0x30010001 means
The reported message reads: “The transaction could not be completed. Try again later. There was a problem communicating with Ubisoft’s online service. Try again later. If the problem persists, visit http://support.ubisoft.com. [0x30010001]” Ubisoft Support reproduced this wording in an Assassin’s Creed Odyssey support discussion. Read the support exchange.
In that discussion, Ubisoft Support said in July 2022 that certain items could not be purchased and were under active investigation. This is a historical statement; it does not confirm the investigation’s outcome or show whether the issue is active now. A separate player report mentions the Ixion’s Agony bow, but that individual report does not prove the bow—or any particular item—is generally affected. Read the Ixion’s Agony report.
What to try when an Oikos purchase fails
- Retry later. The error itself asks you to try again later. A retry is a reasonable first step, but it is not a guaranteed fix.
- Check the game’s online connection. Follow Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed Odyssey connectivity troubleshooting guide if connection trouble continues.
- Note what failed. Record the exact Oikos item, platform, region, date and time, and full error text. Save a screenshot if possible. Ubisoft Support specifically asked which item the player was attempting to buy; an older support discussion also requested region details and a screenshot or video for store problems.
- Contact Ubisoft Support if it persists. Provide the details above and explain whether the error affects one item or multiple items or online functions. Ubisoft’s connectivity guidance directs players to contact support when troubleshooting does not resolve the issue.
What the error does not establish
The available support information does not identify a confirmed cause for every 0x30010001 occurrence. It does not establish that your account is restricted, that a payment was rejected, that a platform-wide outage is responsible, or that a particular fix is available. The useful distinction to report is whether the failure appears limited to one Oikos item or extends to other online functions.

Buying Helix Credits is not a substantiated workaround. Ubisoft describes them as digital in-game currency for Odyssey, but its listing does not say that purchasing credits fixes an Oikos transaction failure. See Ubisoft’s Helix Credits listing.
