Ubisoft’s May 26, 2025 notes did not explain how to unlock either item, saying players would need to work together to figure it out. The update was scheduled to release May 27, 2025; it is historical coverage, not the game’s latest update.
What the Balatro crossover adds
The crossover item is called “Winning Hand,” and its form depends on the character:
| Character | Item | Perk |
|---|---|---|
| Naoe | Trinket | Chance to trigger a random affliction effect on combo enders |
| Yasuke | Amulet | Chance to trigger a random affliction effect on combo enders |
Ubisoft’s release notes do not provide an unlock route or say that the items share the same acquisition steps. The notes close the item description with: “Now… you will need to work together to figure out how to get it!” Ubisoft’s Title Update 1.0.5 release notes describe the perk but do not give further mechanics or drop-rate details.
Other crossover content and quests
Dead by Daylight
A free Dead by Daylight-themed quest becomes accessible from the Hideout after Yasuke is playable. Completing it awards a trinket and banner. Ubisoft also added a Dead by Daylight-inspired store pack containing outfits, weapons, trinkets, and the horse Maurice; the release notes do not describe the pack as free.

No. Ubisoft later announced a subsequent final update for Assassin’s Creed Shadows. Title Update 1.0.5 is therefore best understood as the May 2025 update that introduced the Balatro crossover and the other changes listed here, not as the current final version. Ubisoft’s final-update announcement provides the later context.
