How to start Friend of My Enemy
PowerPyx lists Friend of My Enemy as the 19th main quest, under The League > Tomiko. It becomes available after Heads Will Roll; the guide recommends level 11 for the quest and reports a reward of 1,000 XP. These are guide-reported details, not independently verified patch data. - On the Objectives Board, track Friend of My Enemy under The League and Tomiko.
- Return to the hideout and speak with Tomiko by the workbench.
- Choose either response when Tomiko asks whether the plan will be fine or dangerous. PowerPyx says this choice does not change the outcome.
- Travel to Katano Castle in Izumi Settsu to meet Mitsuhide.
Where to find Mitsuhide in Katano Castle
Katano Castle is hostile. Mitsuhide is in a house in the northwest part of the grounds, north of the castle tower. You can clear nearby enemies or try to pass them; the guides do not describe stealth as a requirement. (Game8 walkthrough)
Suggested approach from the north wall
- Approach the castle’s north wall.
- Use Naoe’s grappling hook to reach a post on the wall.
- Follow the wall west toward the roof of a small house.
- Enter the house and continue through the doors until you reach the main room. PowerPyx says the meeting cutscene triggers there.
This is Game8’s suggested route, not the only confirmed way into the building. If you have unlocked the Katano Castle viewpoint, PowerPyx also suggests fast-traveling there and observing north to identify the destination before entering.

Should you believe Mitsuhide?
When Mitsuhide asks for your help, choose “I believe you” or “I don’t believe you” according to your role-play preference. PowerPyx says this choice does not change the outcome, and Game8’s choices guide reaches the same conclusion. PowerPyx also describes an earlier exchange with the responses “You know a lot” and “You know nothing”; its guide reports no outcome change for the quest’s listed choices. This finding applies to this mission’s conversations, not necessarily to dialogue choices elsewhere in the game. (Game8 choices guide)
What happens after the meeting
Spoilers: The Assassin’s Creed Wiki’s account says Mitsuhide identifies Oda Nobunaga as the Shinbakufu’s leader and the person who ordered Naoe’s father killed. Mitsuhide asks Naoe to help kill Nobunaga; she agrees, and he introduces Ise Sadaoki as a contact for the next steps.
