Ubisoft published the patch notes on July 28 and said the update would release the following day; it is a historical update, not the game’s latest patch. Here’s how to unlock New Game+, what carries over, and what else Ubisoft changed or fixed.
How to unlock New Game+
Finish the main story on any difficulty and complete all journeys for Naoe, Yasuke, and Junjiro. Then start New Game+ from the Memory Menu in the Animus. Ubisoft’s Title Update 1.0.7 notes describe these as the requirements and menu path.
What carries over, and what can you earn?
Your skills, gear, allies, and hideout progression carry over from the first playthrough. Completing New Game+ grants Whisper of Gold and Dragon’s Gold, including a gold-plated Legendary Long Katana and a gold-plated Legendary Katana, each with unique perk engravings.

Balance and other gameplay changes
- Trading Mon values were adjusted so purchases cost less and sales yield more.
- Dismantling items yields more resources, while upgrading items costs slightly more crafting materials.
- End-of-season chest rewards were rebalanced to provide more materials and Hideout resources.
- Yasuke’s Teppo-tree Radial Effect base damage increased from 25% to 50%; Armor Buster upgrades increase it further.
- Allies gain more health and damage as the player levels up.
- Ronin enemies now have four health segments instead of three.
Other notable improvements
- Improved M4 support removes a performance warning on MacBook Air.
- The Photo Mode “Show UI” prompt was fixed.
- Individual items received dedicated store pages.
- Katsuhime no longer vanishes from the hideout after the previous fix.
What bugs did Update 1.0.7 address?
Ubisoft’s notes group fixes under general, gameplay, quests, PC, and Mac. The examples below summarize the problems addressed; a patch-note entry does not guarantee every player’s issue was resolved in every circumstance.
General and gameplay
- Codex discoveries and dialogue issues, plus the addition of a Codex “Mark all as Read” option and a Knowledge Path level selector.
- A trophy-unlock issue and several locations where players could become stuck.
- Issues involving Naoe’s Robes of the Enraged and Genzaburo’s Teppo Master being present at Kaya Shrine.
Quest progression
Fixes targeted progression or interaction problems in Fighting for the Cause, Butterfly Collector, Against The Koga-ryu, A Promise, Temple Stories, Lost Honor, and Homecoming. The notes also address issues involving Genzaburo’s soldiers and Koshiro.

PC fixes include the “Critical Hit!” achievement and localization text. Mac notes include a fix for legendary-weapon engraving rewards.

No. Ubisoft later announced a final update for Assassin’s Creed Shadows. Its announcement lists PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC via Ubisoft Store, Epic Games Store, and Steam, Macs with Apple silicon via the Mac App Store, and Ubisoft+ as availability options.
