Ubisoft’s trailer description said a full gameplay reveal would follow in June; that later presentation was a separate event.
When did the world-premiere trailer come out?
Ubisoft’s official Assassin’s Creed channel published the cinematic world-premiere trailer on May 15, 2024. Its description announced a gameplay reveal for June 2024, making the trailer a first look at the game’s setting and characters rather than a gameplay demonstration.
What did the trailer introduce?
The story is set in late Sengoku-period Japan and follows two protagonists: Naoe, a shinobi from Iga Province, and Yasuke, a samurai drawn from historical legend. Ubisoft describes their stories as intertwined.
Naoe and stealth
Ubisoft’s current game page presents Naoe as the stealth- and mobility-focused protagonist. Her listed tools include kunai, shuriken, smoke bombs, a grappling hook, and the hidden blade.

Yasuke and combat
Yasuke is the combat-oriented protagonist. Ubisoft lists his weapons as a katana, kanabo, bows, and naginata. These character distinctions come from Ubisoft’s game information; cinematic imagery in the May trailer should not be treated as confirmation of specific gameplay mechanics.
What came after the cinematic reveal?
Ubisoft’s June 10, 2024 Ubisoft Forward coverage reported that the event showed 13 minutes of gameplay. That walkthrough featured Yasuke’s combat and Naoe’s infiltration. Ubisoft also said dynamic seasons and weather affect stealth and the environment; those details belong to the June gameplay presentation, not the May cinematic trailer.

How the premiere fits into the game’s history
The May 2024 trailer was the cinematic introduction, followed by the June gameplay reveal. Ubisoft’s June 16, 2026 article described its then-current update as the game’s final major content drop, adding a story capper and the Domains challenge feature. The premiere is therefore a past milestone, not an upcoming announcement.
