For PC, the Steam product page displays a Metacritic score of 77. The detailed PC critic page was not available for review here, so no PC review count or critic-score breakdown can be established from that figure alone. Steam identifies Kunos Simulazioni as developer, 505 Games as publisher, and 29 May 2019 as the PC release date. Steam’s Assetto Corsa Competizione listing also shows user-review sentiment, which is separate from critic scoring: 93% positive from 534 recent reviews and 92% positive from 14,788 English reviews at the time accessed. These figures can change.
What do critics praise?
Driving realism and the core simulation
The strongest praise in the PS5 excerpts is for the driving simulation: critics value the focused, realistic GT racing experience. Steam reproduces a Eurogamer line describing how Kunos Simulazioni brings the GT series home “and you don’t need a superlicence to drive.” The excerpt appears on Steam without a reviewer name or publication date, so it is best understood as the line Steam reproduces, not as a fully identified review citation.

The newer console release improves on earlier versions

What are the main criticisms?
A steep start for newcomers
Some PS5 reviewers describe weak onboarding or presentation. If you are new to racing simulations, expect to spend time learning the cars and the game’s systems rather than being guided through a broad, beginner-focused campaign.
Less conventional game content
Critics also point to comparatively limited conventional content. ACC’s appeal is concentrated in its GT racing simulation; players looking for a wide variety of arcade-style modes or a more expansive general racing game may find its focus restrictive.

Wheel and pedals can improve the experience, but are not required
One PS5 reviewer argues that the experience is sub-par without a wheel and pedals. That is a reviewer’s view of the best way to enjoy the simulation, not a hardware requirement: Steam confirms compatibility with both gamepads and professional steering wheels. A sim racing wheel and pedals are an optional immersion and control upgrade; check compatibility for your platform and setup before buying.
Is Assetto Corsa Competizione worth it?
It is most likely to suit players who want a focused GT racing simulation and are willing to learn its handling and systems. The PS5 critic aggregate is favorable, and critics highlight the driving experience; the trade-offs are a steep newcomer experience and less conventional content. If you want a broad, immediately accessible racing game, those limitations matter more than the aggregate score.

Before purchasing, compare the version for your platform and the edition’s included content. The PlayStation Store listing covers PS4 and PS5 and offers a PS5 2024 Pack containing the game, GT2 Pack, and 24H Nürburgring Pack. Steam lists the PC game and paid DLC. Prices and edition contents may vary by region and can change, so check the relevant store listing for your territory.
The PlayStation Store shows 3.67 out of 5 from 17,834 global player ratings at the time accessed. That is a player-rating snapshot, not a critic score. Digital Bros reported more than €115 million in franchise revenue and over 8 million franchise copies sold in 2023, but those numbers refer to the Assetto Corsa franchise, not to Assetto Corsa Competizione alone.

Is ACC better on PS5 than PS4?
