How to download Assetto Corsa Rally on Windows PC
Assetto Corsa Rally is currently a Windows PC game distributed through Steam. Install the Steam client, sign in, open the game’s official Steam listing, purchase or redeem the game, and choose Install. The current release is Early Access, so the version you download is an evolving build rather than the finished 1.0 release.

1Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches2Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems3Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteUse an SSD with at least 50 GB of available space. Steam is the verified PC distribution route in the official sources; Assetto Corsa Rally is not presented as a conventional boxed Windows release. Price, regional availability, required free space, and the current build can change, so check the live Steam page immediately before buying or installing.
Steam installation steps
- Download and install the official Steam client for Windows.
- Sign in to a Steam account or create one.
- Search for Assetto Corsa Rally, then confirm that the listing is the Windows PC version from the official publisher/developer listing.
- Buy the game or redeem a valid Steam key. Do not rely on an unofficial download site or a purported cracked installer.
- Open Library, select the game, and choose Install.
- Select an SSD library with enough free space, complete the download, and allow Steam to apply subsequent Early Access updates.
Early Access means that content, physics, balance, multiplayer behavior, performance, and bugs may change. The official roadmap describes additional stages, vehicles, refinements, and a later full-release phase; buying the current build should therefore be treated as buying into ongoing development, not as receiving the final feature set.

Windows PC system requirements
The following are the requirements currently published on the Steam listing. They are official targets, not independent benchmark results. The minimum specification is described as targeting 1080p at medium-quality settings; it does not guarantee a particular frame rate on every system.
| Component | Minimum | Recommended |
|---|---|---|
| Operating system | Supported 64-bit Windows 10 or Windows 11 | Supported 64-bit Windows 10 or Windows 11 |
| Processor | Intel Core i7-10700K or AMD Ryzen 5 3600X | Intel Core i5-12600K or AMD Ryzen 5 5600 |
| Memory | 16 GB RAM | 16 GB RAM |
| Graphics | NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 with 8 GB or AMD Radeon RX 6650 XT with 8 GB | NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 with 8 GB or AMD Radeon RX 6800 with 16 GB |
| DirectX | DirectX 12 | DirectX 12 |
| Storage | 50 GB available space | 50 GB available space |
| Drive | SSD required | SSD required |
| Internet | Broadband internet connection | Broadband internet connection |
These requirements are relatively demanding for a rally simulator. Before purchasing, compare your actual CPU and GPU models—not just the amount of video memory—with the published targets. Leave additional room beyond the stated 50 GB where possible because an Early Access game can receive sizeable updates. A system that meets the minimum may still need reduced graphics settings or resolution in demanding scenes; no performance promise should be inferred without testing the specific hardware and current build.
What is included in the current Early Access build?
The documented modes include Free Practice, Rally Weekend, Single Rally Stage, and Time Attack with online leaderboards. The game also includes Assetto Corsa Rally Events and, following Update 0.5, an initial phase of online multiplayer.
Online multiplayer
Update 0.5, released on June 29, 2026, added public and private single-stage lobbies for up to 16 participants. Lobby hosts can use weather settings and car restrictions, while other players can spectate live. The update also introduced developer-managed official lobbies and a rotating event calendar.
Early Access multiplayer is subject to change. Patch 0.5.1 improved lobby handling and added a search bar covering lobby owners, track locations, and stages. It also reduced the online single-stage service-park timer to three minutes.
Cars and rally locations
The official product information describes a licensed mixture of historic and modern rally cars. The listed launch cars include:

The initial real-world stage package contains Rally Alsace—Munster, Rally Alsace—Saverne, Rally Wales—Hafren South, and Rally Wales—Hafren North. Together, these initial laser-scanned roads total more than 20 miles, or 33 km. Update 0.5 added Greece, including Loutraki and Elatia, with 12 layout variants and a further 22 km of laser-scanned roads according to the Steam listing.
For the authoritative current car and stage list, consult the official Assetto Corsa Rally page and the live Steam listing rather than assuming that an older launch article reflects the current build.
What the official screenshots show
The official gallery shows cockpit views, gravel and asphalt stages, rally cars in action, changing weather, night scenes, Greek stages, and broader rally environments. These images are useful for illustrating the game’s presentation and content, but they should not be treated as performance tests. A promotional screenshot does not establish the frame rate, graphics settings, or visual quality a reader will receive on a particular PC.

Beginner tips for Assetto Corsa Rally
1. Begin with Free Practice
Free Practice is the safest place to learn a stage’s rhythm, junctions, braking zones, surface changes, and difficult corners before committing to Rally Weekend or a leaderboard attempt. Repeat a section until you can drive it cleanly rather than using every run to chase a faster but less consistent time.

- PAIRED FOR PRECISION: Take full control of the race with G920 Driving Force Racing Wheel & Pedals and Driving Force Shifter
- PRECISE CONTROL: Helical transmission gears reduce noise and vibration with anti-backlash keeping wheel and pedals tight. The six-speed “H” shifter helps you execute smooth, accurate gear transitions
- FORCE FEEDBACK: The dual motor force-feedback realistically simulates the feel of tires on a turn, understeer, oversteer, drifting and more
- PREMIUM BUILD: Look, feel and durability of a real race car wheel, pedals and shifter. Wheel cover, knob and boot are covered in high-quality, hand-stitched leather with a solid steel gear shaft and polished metal pedals
2. Listen to the co-driver
Pace notes are a primary source of information in rallying. Listen for the next instruction before attempting to extract maximum speed from the current corner. New players often benefit more from learning the note system and looking farther down the road than from immediately changing setups or driving at full attack.
3. Adjust for surface, weather, and visibility
The game models changing grip, weather, time of day, and day-night conditions. When visibility or surface behavior changes, moderate entry speed and braking until you understand the conditions. This is a practical recommendation based on the documented systems, not a claim that every weather or surface combination has been independently benchmarked.

4. Compare drivetrains methodically
The physics model covers front-wheel drive, rear-wheel drive, and all-wheel drive cars. Try one drivetrain at a time in practice so you can identify how it changes turn-in, traction, rotation, and corner-exit behavior. There is no evidence here for declaring one drivetrain universally best; the appropriate choice depends on the car, stage, conditions, and driver.
5. Prioritize a clean stage
Physics-driven damage and destructible environments give mistakes consequences. A clean, repeatable run is a better beginner target than maximum commitment on every corner. If a car is damaged or a particular section repeatedly ends a run, return to Free Practice and lower the approach speed until the problem is understood.
6. Use the ideal line as a learning aid when available
Update 0.5 introduced a dynamic ideal line on the Greece stages. Treat it as a feature of that current content, not as a guarantee that an ideal line is available on every stage. Once you understand a section, try reducing reliance on aids and let the pace notes and road reading become your primary references.
Keyboard, controller, wheel, and triple-screen setup
Assetto Corsa Rally officially supports customizable controls, UI and graphics settings, advanced racing wheels, pedals, shifters, other peripherals, and triple-screen configurations. A keyboard or controller is not documented as impossible, so a wheel is an optional upgrade rather than a requirement to download or play the game.

If you want more precise steering and pedal control, consider a PC racing wheel and pedals for Windows PC. Assetto Corsa Rally officially supports racing wheels and pedals, but check the latest game and manufacturer compatibility information for your exact model before buying. Manufacturer documentation also warns that a wheel’s Windows compatibility does not automatically guarantee compatibility with every individual PC game; for example, see Thrustmaster’s PC compatibility guidance.
For a first setup, configure steering, throttle, brake, clutch if present, handbrake if available, gear selection, pause, and a convenient button for looking back. Calibrate the wheel and pedals in the game, then test input range and dead zones in Free Practice. Do not assume that a particular wheel base, pedal set, shifter, or handbrake will work exactly as expected without checking the current support information for that model.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. What changed in Update 0.5 and Patch 0.5.1?
