Team Asobi announced five levels in total, arriving weekly through November 14; each included two Special Bots to rescue. The weekly schedule was for that October–November rollout, not an indefinite promise of new levels every week.
Astro Bot’s October 2024 speedrun DLC schedule
Team Asobi announced the dates and level names in its October 16, 2024 PlayStation Blog post. The updates were scheduled for Thursdays at 6:00 a.m. PT, 2:00 p.m. BST and 10:00 p.m. JST.

Building Speed was the first course, featuring Barkster, the bulldog booster, in a city high above the ground. Across the five announced levels, players could rescue ten Special Bots.
Is the Astro Bot DLC free, and what do you need to play?
PlayStation described the five-level update as available at no extra cost. You need Astro Bot on PS5 and an internet connection to get the update. The speedrun levels unlock after you complete the main game, so they are post-game challenges rather than content available from the start. Each level also has online leaderboards for competing with PlayStation friends.

Was weekly Astro Bot DLC planned to continue?
No. The weekly cadence in the October announcement applied to those five speedrun levels. Team Asobi later released additional free content on separate schedules, rather than announcing an ongoing weekly series.
- December 2024: Winter Wonder was announced as a separate free level, available after completing the game. See the December PlayStation Blog announcement.
- February–March 2025: Five more free levels for the Vicious Void Galaxy began arriving on February 13 and rolled out weekly through March 13. Each included a Special Bot; after completing the main game, players could replay them in Time Attack mode and compete in online rankings. Details are in Team Asobi’s February 2025 announcement.
Astro Bot is a PlayStation 5 game, as detailed in its PS5 announcement. The game itself is required; the announced DLC is not a separate purchase.
