ASUS ROG’s 2025 Zephyrus, Strix and Flow laptops are already available in India rather than awaiting launch. ASUS announced the lineup for May 2, 2025, with pre-orders opening that day. The range includes the portable Zephyrus G14 and G16, performance-focused Strix G16 and SCAR 16/18, and detachable Flow Z13.
Indian ASUS pages list configurations using NVIDIA GeForce RTX 50-series laptop GPUs and AMD or Intel AI-capable processors. However, “RTX 5000” does not describe one performance level: the lineup spans RTX 5050 through selected RTX 5090 configurations, with substantial differences in power limits, cooling, memory and price.

ROG Zephyrus G14 (2025): the portable premium option
The Zephyrus G14 is the compact choice in the lineup. The highlighted Indian configuration combines an AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 processor with an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 Ti Laptop GPU and a 14-inch 3K 120Hz OLED ROG Nebula display. ASUS lists a 1.5kg chassis and 1.83cm thickness for that configuration.
That combination makes the G14 suitable for gaming, video editing, development and travel without the bulk of a conventional desktop-replacement laptop. Its OLED panel offers deep blacks, strong contrast and fast response times, but buyers should still consider reflections, long-term static-image exposure and the fact that the GPU may not drive demanding games at the panel’s native resolution and maximum refresh rate.
The G14’s trade-off is sustained performance and upgradeability. A thin chassis has less thermal headroom than a thicker Strix system, and buyers must check the exact SKU’s memory configuration before ordering. Do not assume every G14 listed under the same family name has the same processor, GPU, display or RAM.
See the ASUS India ROG Zephyrus G14 page for the current configuration and price.
ROG Zephyrus G16 (2025): a larger OLED screen in a thin chassis
The highlighted Zephyrus G16 configuration is built around an Intel Core Ultra 9 285H processor, RTX 5080 Laptop GPU, 2.5K 240Hz OLED panel, 32GB LPDDR5X memory and a 2TB PCIe 4.0 SSD.
It is aimed at buyers who want more screen space than the G14 provides but do not want a large SCAR-style chassis. The high-resolution OLED display is attractive for games, films, design and content creation, while the RTX 5080 configuration provides substantially more graphics capability than the lower-tier GPUs available elsewhere in the range.
The important limitation is memory: the cited configuration uses onboard 32GB LPDDR5X RAM, and ASUS specifies that it is not expandable. That capacity is sufficient for many gaming and creative workloads, but it deserves attention from users planning large projects, virtual machines or local AI workloads. Check the exact model number rather than assuming that a different G16 SKU has the same memory arrangement.

ROG Strix G16 (2025): the broadest gaming-value range
The Strix G16 is not one fixed specification. Indian listings cover G614 and G615 families with different CPU and GPU combinations. Depending on the SKU, buyers can find RTX 5050, RTX 5060, RTX 5070, RTX 5070 Ti and RTX 5080 Laptop GPUs.
The indexed pages showed starting-price signals of ₹159,990 for the G614 family and ₹169,990 for the G615 family. Those figures should be treated as dated ASUS e-store listings rather than guaranteed current prices.
Compared with Zephyrus, the Strix G16 generally prioritizes cooling, higher sustained power and gaming-focused ergonomics over thinness. It is therefore often the more sensible option for buyers who care about frame rates per rupee, memory or storage upgrades, and long gaming sessions. It is less suitable for frequent travellers who want a discreet, lightweight machine.
Why the Strix G16 GPU specifications matter
ASUS lists different graphics power levels for different configurations. Examples on the Indian specification page include:
- RTX 5060 Laptop GPU at up to 115W
- RTX 5070 Ti Laptop GPU at up to 140W
- RTX 5080 Laptop GPU at up to 175W
These figures do not apply to every Strix G16. A laptop’s real gaming performance depends on the GPU model, maximum graphics power, Dynamic Boost behaviour, cooling, CPU, memory configuration, display resolution and whether the laptop is using a MUX switch or Advanced Optimus. Two laptops carrying the same RTX label can perform differently when their power limits and thermal systems differ.
Check the G615 specifications and the G614 specifications separately.
ROG Strix SCAR 16 and SCAR 18: flagship gaming hardware
The Strix SCAR 16 and SCAR 18 sit above the regular Strix G16 as larger, more aggressive gaming machines. Their priorities are high-power graphics, substantial cooling, larger displays, RGB customisation and better access to internal upgrades. Portability and unplugged endurance are secondary.
Launch-period reporting described selected SCAR configurations with up to an RTX 5090 Laptop GPU. That claim should be restricted to the relevant configuration: it does not mean every SCAR model, or every Indian SKU, includes an RTX 5090. Confirm the exact ASUS India model number, GPU power rating, VRAM, display and current stock before treating the SCAR as an RTX 5090 purchase.

- CUTTING-EDGE PERFORMANCE – Experience next-level performance with Windows 11 Home, an AMD Ryzen 9 9955HX Processor, and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 Laptop GPU powered by the NVIDIA Blackwell architecture and featuring DLSS 4 and Max-Q technologies
- HIGH-PERFORMANCE MEMORY AND STORAGE – Multitask seamlessly with 16GB of DDR5-5600MHz memory and store your game library on 1TB of PCIe Gen 4 SSD.
- DYNAMIC DISPLAY THAT KEEPS YOU IN THE GAME – Immerse yourself in stunning visuals with a smooth 165Hz/3ms display for gaming and entertainment.
- STATE-OF-THE-ART ROG INTELLIGENT COOLING – ROG’s advanced thermals keep your system cool, quiet and comfortable. State of the art cooling featuring Tri-Fan technology, full-width heatsink, and full-surround vents.
- CUSTOMIZABLE RGB LIGHTBAR – Showcase your style with a customizable RGB light bar that syncs with your keyboard and ROG peripherals. In professional settings, Stealth Mode turns off all lighting for a sleek, refined look.
For most buyers, the SCAR makes sense only when its additional graphics power and sustained cooling will be used. A lower-priced Strix G16 may be the better choice for ordinary 1080p or 1440p gaming, while a Zephyrus may be preferable for someone who carries the laptop daily.
ROG Flow Z13 (2025): a detachable 2-in-1, not a conventional gaming laptop
The Flow Z13 should be considered separately from the clamshell Zephyrus and Strix machines. It combines a tablet-like body with a detachable keyboard, making it attractive for note-taking, travel, media consumption and flexible desk use.
The 2025 model uses AMD’s Ryzen AI Max platform and should not automatically be grouped with the RTX-equipped Zephyrus and Strix range. The relevant platform uses integrated Radeon graphics rather than simply adding a discrete NVIDIA GPU. The exact Indian SKU’s processor, memory, display and graphics configuration must be checked on ASUS India’s live listing before purchase.

A detachable design brings different compromises: keyboard ergonomics, port selection, cooling, kickstand use and upgradeability are not the same as on a traditional gaming laptop. It is a good fit for buyers who specifically value tablet portability and flexibility, not for someone seeking the highest frame rates or the best performance per rupee.
The indexed ASUS India page showed ₹269,990. Treat that as a price signal and verify the live listing.

What “RTX 5000 GPU” means in this lineup
The RTX 50-series label covers multiple laptop GPUs: RTX 5050, RTX 5060, RTX 5070, RTX 5070 Ti, RTX 5080 and, in selected high-end configurations, RTX 5090. They are not interchangeable performance tiers.
When comparing two listings, check these details in order:
- Exact GPU: RTX 5060 and RTX 5080 are not equivalent simply because both belong to the RTX 50 series.
- Graphics power: TGP or maximum graphics power can materially affect sustained performance.
- VRAM: capacity matters for high-resolution gaming, ray tracing and some creative workloads.
- Cooling: thicker systems can sustain higher power for longer.
- CPU and RAM: these affect minimum frame rates, simulation workloads and multitasking.
- Display resolution: a GPU may deliver higher frame rates at 1080p than at a laptop’s native 2.5K or 3K resolution.
- Graphics switching: MUX or Advanced Optimus support can affect latency and performance.
Features such as DLSS and frame generation can improve supported games, but they do not turn an entry-level RTX 50-series laptop into a higher-tier GPU. Always compare the complete laptop configuration rather than the GPU name alone.

What the AI processors actually add
The lineup uses different processor platforms. Examples on official Indian pages include the Intel Core Ultra 9 285H with an Intel AI Boost NPU rated up to 13 TOPS, and the AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 370. Other G14 configurations use AMD Ryzen 200-series branding with an AMD XDNA NPU rated up to 16 TOPS.
An NPU is a low-power neural-processing unit designed to handle supported AI tasks efficiently. Its TOPS rating is not a gaming benchmark and should not be used as a proxy for frame rate. Gaming performance will generally depend much more on the GPU, its power limit, CPU performance, cooling and memory.
“AI PC” and “Copilot+ PC” terminology also does not guarantee that every AI application runs locally or that every Windows AI feature is available on every model and edition. Application support, operating-system requirements and regional availability still matter. Check the exact CPU and model number rather than treating “AI processor” as a single specification.

- Choose the Zephyrus G14 if you want the best balance of compact size, premium OLED viewing and serious gaming or creative capability. Accept less sustained performance and potentially less upgradeability than a thicker Strix laptop.
- Choose the Zephyrus G16 if you want a larger OLED screen and a premium RTX 5080 configuration in a relatively portable design. Confirm that onboard, non-expandable memory suits your long-term plans.
- Choose the Strix G16 if performance per rupee, cooling, GPU choice and upgradeability matter more than thinness. Compare G614 and G615 model numbers directly.
- Choose the Strix SCAR 16 or 18 if you want the highest-end gaming performance and are comfortable with a large chassis, higher cost and lower portability. Verify any RTX 5090 claim against the exact Indian SKU.
- Choose the Flow Z13 if a detachable keyboard and tablet-style portability are central to your purchase. Do not buy it expecting conventional gaming-laptop ergonomics or the best value at a given frame-rate target.
OLED or IPS?
OLED panels provide excellent contrast, black levels and response times, making them appealing for both games and media work. Their trade-offs include possible burn-in concerns with prolonged static content, reflections on some glossy panels and a higher purchase price.
IPS displays can cost less, are often available with matte finishes and avoid OLED-specific burn-in concerns. They may be the more practical choice for office-heavy use or buyers who want to spend more of the budget on GPU performance. In either case, a high refresh rate is only useful if the laptop’s GPU can generate enough frames at the selected resolution.
India pricing, stock and launch offers
ASUS announced the India lineup for May 2, 2025, with pre-orders beginning that day. Launch-period reporting described a ₹99 pre-order offer with benefits valued at up to ₹34,498, including additional warranty, local damage protection and an ROG backpack. That was a historical launch offer and should not be presented as active unless the current ASUS checkout page confirms it.
The cited ASUS India pages showed the following price signals: G14 from ₹199,990, G16 from ₹359,990, Strix G16 from ₹159,990 or ₹169,990 depending on the G614/G615 family, and Flow Z13 at ₹269,990. These values can change with promotions, configuration and stock. ASUS, Amazon, Flipkart and offline retailers may also list different SKUs under similar family names.
