Lenovo launched a Legion/Savior × Black Myth: Wukong C170 170W GaN charger in China in September 2024. It went on sale on September 30 at an introductory price of ¥299, combining a compact adapter with a bundled USB-C-to-Lenovo C-Slim cable for compatible Lenovo gaming laptops.
The important qualification is that 170W is not a universal USB-C charging promise. Lenovo’s headline output applies to compatible systems using the supplied high-power C-Slim connection; ordinary USB-C devices will charge according to their own limits and negotiated protocol.

What “170W” actually means
The charger should not be described simply as a universal 170W USB-C laptop charger. Lenovo advertised up to 170W for compatible Savior and Legion hardware through the supplied C-Slim cable. The charger’s single USB-C port also supports common standards such as PD 3.0, QC 3.0 and PPS, but protocol support does not make every connected device capable of accepting 170W.
A later Lenovo technical listing describes 170W as 20V at 8.5A and refers to an E-Mark-equipped C-Slim cable. It also mentions Lenovo’s private 20V/7A protocol, with up to 140W for certain compatible devices. That later page may describe a related or refreshed product rather than documenting every detail of the original co-branded SKU, so the figures should be treated as Lenovo’s later listing information rather than merged uncritically with the 2024 launch record.

- Portable and Foldable: Featuring a cutting-edge GaN III chip, the Lenovo 140W Multiport charger is 30% smaller than the original laptop charger and equipped with a foldable plug that makes it easy to carry. Meanwhile, this PD 3.1 140W charger is easily compatible with almost all 100W devices.
In practical terms, the connected device, cable, negotiated charging profile and laptop firmware determine the result. A phone or tablet might draw only a fraction of the adapter’s maximum. A USB-C laptop may be limited to 65W, 100W or another supported profile. A compatible Lenovo gaming laptop may access the higher C-Slim output, but sustained gaming can still exceed 170W.

Other USB-C devices
Phones, tablets and lower-power laptops may work through USB PD, QC or PPS, subject to each device’s input rating. The charger cannot force a device to draw more power than it is designed to accept, and the fastest charging mode is not guaranteed merely because one of the protocols is listed.
Why GaN matters
Gallium nitride allows power circuits to switch at high frequencies, which can help manufacturers build smaller and lighter adapters than many older silicon-based designs at comparable power levels. That is the main appeal here: a 170W-capable adapter in a roughly 71 mm square enclosure weighing about 245 g.
GaN alone does not guarantee that an adapter will run cooler, be more efficient in every situation or work with every laptop. Thermal behavior still depends on the circuit design, enclosure, load and ventilation.

Availability in 2026
As of August 16, 2026, Lenovo China pages still list Black Myth: Wukong-branded 170W products, but they do not present a clean, definitive picture of continuous stock for the exact 2024 collector edition.
One official page identifies the co-branded product and shows a presale-oriented state without a clearly reliable current price. A Lenovo knowledge page dated May 28, 2026 gives a ¥219 lowest-price signal for a co-branded LA170 adapter, while another page dated July 22, 2026 lists a 170W Black Myth: Wukong adapter at ¥349. A standard, non-game-branded C170W listing shows a ¥199 price signal.

- Compact 260W GaN Power for Travel: Measures 3.6 x 2.9 x 1.4 in and weighs 12 oz, with about 47% less footprint and 46% less weight than the typical 245W power brick shown. The foldable US plug packs easily for business trips, while the XT60 port supports up to 20V/13A (260W Max). Designed to replace selected 245W, 230W, 170W, and 135W Slim Tip adapters.
- Included 5 ft Slim Tip Cable and Compatibility: Comes with a 5 ft (1.5 m) XT60 to 11 x 4.5 mm yellow Slim Tip cable for selected Lenovo Legion 5, Legion 7, Legion Pro, LOQ, and ThinkPad P models. The Slim Tip connector's built-in identification resistor allows compatible laptops to recognize the adapter power rating. Check your laptop model, connector, and required wattage before purchase. This charger is not intended for USB-C-only laptops or models requiring 300W/330W adapters.
- Independent XT60 Output During Multi-Port Use: USB-C and USB-A ports may pause for 1-2s to renegotiate power when devices are connected. However, in our testing, the XT60 laptop output remained active without restarting during this handshake, helping avoid screen blackouts. Smart Power Allocation: [XT60 + USB-C] = 160W + 100W; [XT60 + USB-A] = 230W + 30W; [USB-C + USB-A] = 65W + 30W; [All 3 Ports] = 160W + 65W + 30W. (Note: Available XT60 wattage adjusts automatically based on the connected ports).
- Latching Hardware Protection: Dedicated hardware provides over-voltage, over-current, over-temperature, and short-circuit protection. If the combined load exceeds the charger's rated total output, the protection IC shuts down all ports and prevents automatic restart until AC power is disconnected and reconnected. V-0 fire-resistant PC housing adds another layer of protection. Input: 100-240V, 50/60Hz, 3A Max.
- Package Contents and Compliance: Includes 1 x KingMa 260W GaN charger, 1 x 5 ft (1.5 m) XT60 to 11 x 4.5 mm Slim Tip cable, and 1 x user manual. USB-C and USB-A cables are not included. FCC, CE, and RoHS test reports are available for this model. This is a KingMa compatible replacement, not an original Lenovo charger.
Who should buy it?
| Reader | Verdict |
|---|---|
| Black Myth: Wukong collector | Appealing if the seller is authentic and the premium is reasonable. |
| Compatible Legion/Savior owner | A potentially useful, compact travel adapter. |
| Owner of a 230W or 300W gaming laptop | Not a guaranteed full replacement for the original adapter. |
| Phone or tablet user | Probably excessive unless a high-power laptop is also part of the setup. |
| International buyer | Check plug, certification, warranty, seller and return arrangements. |
| Multi-device household | A multi-port charger may be more practical; this adapter has one primary USB-C port. |
Common pitfalls
The battery drains while gaming
This can happen if the laptop is drawing more than 170W, if the system limits charging under GPU load, if the charger negotiated a lower profile, if the wrong cable is being used or if the firmware requires a particular Lenovo protocol. Compare the laptop’s required adapter rating with the negotiated output and use the supplied C-Slim cable for the advertised Lenovo high-power mode.
A USB-C device receives only 65W or 100W
That is normal when the device’s USB-C input limit or negotiated PD profile is lower. The adapter’s maximum rating is not a promise that every device will receive 170W.
Using a normal USB-C cable
A properly rated USB-C cable may support ordinary PD charging at the device’s supported level. For the advertised maximum with a Lenovo laptop, use the supplied C-Slim cable or a Lenovo-approved equivalent. Do not assume an arbitrary USB-C cable can deliver the same result.
Replacing a 230W or 300W adapter
A 170W adapter may be useful for travel or lighter workloads, but high-performance gaming laptops can still require their original higher-wattage adapter for full CPU and GPU performance.
Alternatives within Lenovo’s China catalog
Readers comparing function rather than the collaboration design may find a standard Lenovo C170W adapter listed at a ¥199 price signal. Lenovo’s accessories pages also show higher-wattage 245W and 300W GaN supplies, as well as 150W multi-port and 100W USB-C adapters. These are not interchangeable recommendations: the right choice depends on the laptop’s required wattage, connector and protocol.
Prices and availability for these products are China-market signals and can change. Consult Lenovo’s standard C170W listing and accessories page for the relevant catalog entries.
