ERP means “estimated retail price.” Retailer pricing, stock, tax, shipping, and promotions can vary. ASUS currently lists the premium case at $69.99 on its U.S. product page. Xbox Wire confirmed the $99.99 dock price in its October 2025 accessory announcement.

What the premium case includes
The $69.99 case is a hard-shell travel accessory rather than a simple sleeve. Its features include a water-repellent exterior, hard plastic outer shell, soft fleece lining, and reinforced edges. It also has:

The “2-in-1” name refers to the case’s carrying and stand/storage functions. It does not mean the case can hold two handhelds at once. The charger pouch can be removed when you want to reduce the case’s bulk.

ASUS describes the exterior as water-repellent, not waterproof. The case is therefore a sensible choice for backpack or luggage protection, but it should not be treated as a rugged dry bag. Its hard shell also takes more space than a slim sleeve.
What the ROG 100W Gaming Charger Dock does
The $99.99 dock combines charging, HDMI display output, and peripheral connectivity in a compact unit. Xbox describes it as having HDMI output and two USB-A ports, allowing the handheld to connect to a TV or monitor alongside accessories such as a controller, keyboard, mouse, or storage device.
Notebookcheck reported additional specifications including HDMI 2.0, one USB-C port, two USB-A ports, and a USB-C connection cable. It also reported that the cable is shorter than the one supplied with ASUS’s earlier 65W dock. Those detailed port specifications should be checked against the current product listing before purchase, as the official Xbox announcement provides the broader feature summary.

The “100W” label describes the dock’s power capability. It does not guarantee that either handheld will receive 100W under every condition. Actual charging depends on the power adapter, USB-C Power Delivery negotiation, cable, firmware, and system load. The ROG Xbox Ally and ROG Xbox Ally X ship with 65W chargers, according to Xbox’s product specifications.
The dock is also not automatically a complete desktop replacement. HDMI output does not mean that every game will run at 4K or at high frame rates, and the dock does not offer the broader connectivity of a full desktop hub. The available information does not establish that the dock includes a power adapter, so buyers should check the package contents before assuming it replaces the handheld’s charger.
How the pricing was revealed
The original pricing story dates to August 20, 2025. At that point, ASUS had announced the ROG Xbox Ally and ROG Xbox Ally X, but the accessory launch details were not yet fully published. Notebookcheck reported that Best Buy listings exposed prices of $69.99 for the case and $99.99 for the dock.

That was an early retailer-listing disclosure, not the final accessory launch announcement. ASUS and Xbox later confirmed the products and prices, with availability tied to the handhelds’ October 16, 2025 launch. The distinction matters: the original report described expected pricing before launch, while the current official listings establish the accessories as released products.
Should you buy the case?
The case is a good fit if you regularly carry the ROG Xbox Ally or Ally X, want to keep the 65W charger in the same bag, use multiple SD cards, or value a built-in tabletop stand. It offers more utility than a basic zip case because the charger pouch is removable and the storage section can support the handheld.
At $69.99, it is less compelling if you only need a lightweight sleeve, already own a protective case, or use a separate stand. The hard shell can also occupy more room in a backpack than a soft case. A lower-profile alternative is the dbrand Killswitch, which Xbox Wire listed at $59.95 U.S. ERP with an integrated kickstand and crush-proof Travel Cover. It does not provide the ASUS case’s detachable charger pouch and SD-card storage.

Should you buy the 100W dock?
The dock makes the most sense for owners who frequently connect the handheld to a TV or monitor and need two USB-A ports for peripherals. It is particularly useful as a travel setup because it combines several functions without requiring a separate video adapter and USB hub.
It is harder to justify for charging alone. The handheld already includes a 65W charger, and a generic USB-C hub may provide similar basic connectivity for less money, although compatibility, power delivery, cable quality, and support can vary.
For a permanent desk setup, ASUS’s own ROG Bulwark Dock 2025 DG300 is the more capable option. Xbox lists it at $139.99 U.S. ERP with HDMI 2.1, Ethernet, USB-C, three USB-A ports, an audio jack, up to 4K at 144Hz or 8K at 30Hz, 100W USB-C Power Delivery, and Aura Sync RGB lighting. It costs $40 more and is less travel-focused, but its extra ports make it better suited to a monitor, wired network, and several peripherals.

Do you need both?
Buying the case and dock at their listed U.S. prices would total $169.98 before tax and shipping. That is a simple combined calculation, not an advertised bundle price.
There is no reason every ROG Xbox Ally owner needs both. The case is an optional protection and travel purchase. The dock is primarily a display and peripheral-connectivity purchase whose charging function is an added convenience. Choose the case if portability is your priority, choose the dock if you regularly play on a larger screen, and skip either accessory if your existing bag, charger, stand, or USB-C hub already meets your needs.
Important compatibility note
These accessories are documented for the ROG Xbox Ally and ROG Xbox Ally X. Do not assume that compatibility extends to the older 2023 ROG Ally or 2024 ROG Ally X without separate confirmation. The Xbox-branded models are a different product generation, and their accessory fit should not be inferred from similar names.
