Verdict: The Ryzen 7 5800H/RTX 3060 version of the Lenovo Legion 5 15 G6 was an excellent 1080p gaming laptop in 2021 and remains a good used buy in 2026—provided it has the 165 Hz display, healthy battery, dual-channel memory, and a price well below newer RTX 5060 laptops. Do not apply this review to every Legion 5 15ACH6: Lenovo sold substantially different GPU, display, memory, and storage configurations.

- READY FOR ANYTHING – Dive headfirst into gaming on Windows 11 powered by the Intel Core i5 Processor 13450HX and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5050 Laptop GPU with a Max TGP of 115W and NVIDIA Advanced Optimus.
- SUBTLE STYLING – The TUF Gaming F16 maintains its classic design, boasting a subtle embossed TUF logo on its sleek cover.
- IMMERSIVE VISUALS – The TUF Gaming F16’s FHD+ 165Hz display with 100% sRGB color draws you into the action. Adaptive-Sync technology reduces lag, minimizes stuttering, and eliminates visual tearing for ultra-smooth gameplay.
- MILITARY GRADE DURABILITY – As a TUF gaming machine, the F16 has been rigorously tested to meet Military Grade testing standards, MIL-STD-810H. Rest easy knowing this laptop will operate at peak performance in harsh conditions.
- EFFICIENT COOLING – Equipped with 2nd Gen Arc Flow Fans, full-width heatsink, and full-width vent, the TUF Gaming F16 optimizes cooling performance without extra noise.
Those are historical results, not promises of identical 2026 performance. Game patches, drivers, Windows updates, thermals, memory configuration, and power mode all matter. Nevertheless, the 130 W RTX 3060 remains well suited to high-settings 1080p gaming. DLSS can help in supported games, while ray tracing usually requires reduced settings and upscaling. It is not a modern high-end ray-tracing machine.
The GPU is the key buying distinction. According to RTINGS’ testing, the RTX 3060 is roughly 35–40% faster than the RTX 3050 in this generation. An RTX 3050 or 120 Hz model should not be priced or described as equivalent to the reviewed laptop. The RX 6600M can be broadly comparable, but results vary by game and feature support.
Display: excellent when you get the right panel
The tested 165 Hz Full HD panel was one of the Legion’s strongest features. Notebookcheck measured about 350 cd/m² brightness, 1,167:1 contrast, 96.3% sRGB coverage, and fast response times. It detected no PWM, although minor backlight bleed appeared along the lower edge.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute2Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors3Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesA 165 Hz refresh rate makes desktop movement and competitive games feel smooth, but the family also included weaker 60 Hz and 120 Hz screens plus a 165 Hz WQHD option. Even the same model family can use components from different suppliers. Ask the seller for the actual resolution and refresh rate, and ideally a photograph or system screenshot. Do not assume that “Legion 5 15ACH6” means 165 Hz.
Design, keyboard, and portability
The chassis is understated and practical rather than premium. It is approximately 363×261×26 mm, weighs about 2.47 kg, and has a comfortable keyboard with full-size arrow keys and a dedicated number pad. The tested configuration included four-zone backlighting; lighting profiles can be changed with Fn + Space and adjusted through Lenovo Vantage where supported.
The number pad is useful for productivity but leaves some other keys narrower. The large clickpad is adequate, though most gamers will prefer a mouse.

- 【Ryzen 5 6600H for Demanding Daily Performance】AMD Ryzen 5 6600H processor features 6 cores, 12 threads, and boost speeds up to 4.5GHz, delivering stronger performance for office multitasking, coding, content handling, and sustained daily workloads. Compared with many common thin-and-light Intel Ryzen 5 7430U, Core i3-1315U, Core i5-1334U, AMD Ryzen 5 7520U, and Ryzen 7 5825U configurations, it is a better fit for users who need more performance headroom.
- 【Radeon 660M Graphics】AMD Radeon 660M integrated graphics with RDNA 2 architecture supports everyday visual work, smooth media playback, light photo editing, and casual gaming needs like LoL or CS2 at 1080p settings. It is a balanced fit for students, remote workers, and entry-level creators who want capable graphics without the extra heat and power draw of a dedicated GPU.
- 【16GB RAM & 1TB SSD with Upgrade Room】16GB DDR5 memory and a 1TB PCIe SSD deliver smooth out-of-the-box performance for multitasking, large file handling, and daily storage needs. With dual SO-DIMM slots and an M.2 2280 design, the system still leaves room to upgrade up to 64GB RAM and up to 4TB SSD as your needs continue to grow.
- 【2 Year Warranty Support】Includes a 2-year manufacturer warranty and a 90-day hassle-free return window, with final assembly in the United States and after-sales replacement handled in the United States under this listing workflow. That added service clarity gives students, professionals, and home users more confidence when choosing a laptop for long-term daily use.
- 【53.58Wh Battery and 100W PD】A 53.58Wh smart battery paired with a separate 100W PD charger gives this laptop more flexibility for campus study, coffee shop work, and moving between rooms at home. The USB-C setup also supports convenient power and display connectivity, helping reduce the hassle of slow charging and frequent outlet hunting during a busy day.
Portability is the major compromise. Add the approximately 1.07 kg 300 W adapter and the carry weight approaches 3.54 kg before accessories. This is a laptop to move between rooms or occasional classes—not an ideal travel machine.
Ports and wireless
The tested machine included rear USB-A ports, rear USB-C with DisplayPort and Power Delivery, side USB-A and USB-C ports, HDMI 2.1, Gigabit Ethernet, and a 3.5 mm headset jack. The AMD model does not provide Thunderbolt.
The tested Realtek RTL8852AE Wi-Fi 6 adapter worked normally, but Notebookcheck measured fluctuating performance of approximately 561 Mbit/s transmit and 828 Mbit/s receive in its standardized testing. Used systems may contain different wireless cards or region-specific configurations, so verify the individual laptop if wireless performance matters.
Thermals and fan noise
The cooling system kept performance reasonably stable, but it was not quiet. Notebookcheck measured approximately 53.5 dB(A) under load and in its Witcher 3 test. One underside hotspot reached about 50°C, while the keyboard remained comparatively comfortable.
In a combined Prime95/FurMark stress test, CPU power fell from 60 W to 45 W after roughly five minutes and the GPU was limited to about 115 W, with no continuing performance collapse reported. Use the laptop on a hard, unobstructed surface. On a used unit, inspect vents for dust and watch for sudden shutdowns, severe clock drops, or fans that remain loud at idle. A cooling stand may improve airflow, but it will not make this system silent.
Battery life
The 80 Wh battery offered decent endurance for a gaming laptop, especially with hybrid graphics enabled. Notebookcheck recorded:

| Test | Hybrid graphics enabled | Hybrid graphics disabled |
|---|---|---|
| Wi-Fi at 150 cd/m² | 477 minutes | 290 minutes |
| Wi-Fi at maximum brightness | 396 minutes | 262 minutes |
| 1080p video at 150 cd/m² | 537 minutes | 259 minutes |
| Maximum load | — | 105 minutes |
These were measurements from a new review unit and older software. A used battery may perform considerably worse. Hybrid mode is important for unplugged work, while gaming should be done with the correct high-wattage charger connected.
Upgradeability and maintenance
The Legion 5 is more upgrade-friendly than many thin gaming laptops. It has two DDR4 SO-DIMM slots, two M.2 storage slots, and a replaceable Wi-Fi module. Lenovo’s PSREF lists a more conservative validated memory limit of 32 GB, while Notebookcheck reported support up to 64 GB in its configuration and testing. Treat the exact machine and memory kit as the authority rather than assuming one universal maximum.
Prefer 16 GB in two modules over 8 GB in a single module. Before buying or upgrading, check whether the second M.2 bay has its mounting screw and bracket, whether the installed drive is 2242 or 2280, and whether the laptop has one or two memory modules.

Use the correct plastic pry tools, work slowly around the perimeter, and do not force the panel. Lenovo’s support documentation should be checked against the machine’s exact type.
Weak points
- Webcam: The 720p camera produces poor image quality, even in good lighting, and the tested unit lacked an IR camera for Windows Hello.
- Noise: Gaming fan noise around 53.5 dB(A) is clearly audible.
- Weight: The laptop and charger together are unusually heavy.
- Connectivity: There is no Thunderbolt, and tested Wi-Fi throughput was below some competitors.
- Screen variance: Some family variants have mediocre 60 Hz or 120 Hz panels.
- Age: The Ryzen 5000 platform, DDR4 memory, 6 GB VRAM, and used-battery risk matter more in 2026 than they did at launch.
How to buy one used in 2026
Do not use the processor name or “Legion 5 Gen 6” listing title as your price guide. Request:
- The full machine type, such as 15ACH6 or 15ACH6H.
- A screenshot showing the CPU and exact GPU.
- The display resolution and refresh rate.
- The number of installed RAM modules and total memory.
- SSD capacity and whether the second M.2 bay is free.
- A Windows battery report showing design and full-charge capacity.
- Photos of the bottom label, ports, screen, hinges, vents, and charger.
- A return window or warranty that covers hidden faults.
For the RTX 3060 model, confirm that the charger is the appropriate 300 W unit. A missing or undersized replacement adapter can cause charging or performance problems under load. Reject machines with swollen batteries, damaged vents, loud idle fans, thermal shutdowns, severe display defects, or sellers who cannot identify the GPU.

There is no single fair 2026 price without knowing the country, condition, battery health, warranty, and exact display. The rule is simple: an RTX 3060/165 Hz unit should be substantially cheaper than a comparable new RTX 5060 laptop. If the price gap is small, the newer machine is usually the safer purchase.

Lenovo’s current Legion 5 Gen 10 AMD uses newer AMD processors, RTX 5060 graphics with 8 GB GDDR7, DDR5 memory, and—on the cited configuration—a 15.1-inch 2560×1600 OLED panel at 165 Hz. It is faster and more modern, but it also costs much more than a good used 2021 model, and driving a higher-resolution display places more demand on the GPU.
Lenovo’s buying pages also list newer Legion 5a models with up to RTX 5060 graphics. Prices and configurations are volatile, so compare the actual checkout price, memory, storage, screen, warranty, and return policy rather than relying on a listing headline.
Who should buy it?
Buy the RTX 3060 version if you want a budget used gaming laptop for 1080p, value upgradeable RAM and storage, and accept substantial weight and audible fans.
Skip it if you travel frequently, need Thunderbolt, depend on a good webcam or biometrics, require quiet gaming, or would be paying close to the price of a new RTX 5060 laptop.
The best target is specifically the Ryzen 7 5800H/RTX 3060 configuration with 16 GB dual-channel memory and the 165 Hz display. An RTX 3050, 8 GB single-channel, 120 Hz model may still be usable, but it is a different value proposition and should be priced accordingly.
