The price was below ₹81,000 at launch; current ASUS listings show several different F16 configurations, so check the full model number and graphics memory before buying.
Launch price, date and availability
The TUF Gaming F16 went on sale in India on March 12, 2025, with the Mecha Gray FX607VBR configuration announced at ₹80,990. ASUS listed the eShop, ASUS Exclusive stores, Amazon, Flipkart, Reliance, Croma and Vijay Sales as sales channels at launch. Gadgets 360’s launch report covered the announcement.
That ₹80,990 figure is the original launch price, not a current quote. ASUS India store pages accessed August 18, 2026 showed these related models and prices:

RTX 3050A versus RTX 3050: identify the GPU before ordering
The FX607VB-RL087WS is listed by ASUS with an RTX 3050A, 4GB GDDR6 memory and 65W graphics power (50W base plus 15W Dynamic Boost). The FX607VJB listings instead specify an RTX 3050 with 6GB GDDR6 and 65W graphics power. ASUS’s F16 technical specifications and the individual store pages distinguish these variants.
Do not treat “RTX 3050” and “RTX 3050A” as interchangeable labels, or infer that one must always be faster. Laptop performance also depends on power limits, cooling, memory configuration, the game and settings. The 4GB and 6GB capacities are a practical difference: less video memory can constrain texture-heavy settings in newer games. Neither GPU name alone guarantees a particular frame rate.

How useful is the 144Hz screen?
The 16-inch 1920×1200 panel has a 16:10 aspect ratio, so it gives more vertical space than a 16:9 1920×1080 screen. A 144Hz refresh rate can make motion look smoother in games that render at high frame rates, particularly competitive titles; it does not mean every demanding game will run at 144 frames per second.

ASUS lists a Value IPS-level, anti-glare panel with 45% NTSC colour coverage on the relevant configurations. That is a gaming and general-use specification, not evidence of a wide-gamut or colour-critical display. The listed models also include a MUX Switch and NVIDIA Advanced Optimus. See ASUS’s technical specifications for configuration details.
Gaming expectations and performance limits
The Core 5 210H and RTX 3050-class graphics make this a budget gaming-laptop combination aimed at 1080p/1200p play, alongside schoolwork, multitasking and mainstream content creation. The supplied specifications do not establish game-specific benchmark results, so frame rates should not be assumed from the processor, GPU label or screen refresh rate alone. Results depend on the exact SKU, game, resolution, graphics settings, power mode, cooling and drivers.

For a buyer choosing between current listings, the 6GB RTX 3050 / DDR5 model at ₹79,990 is the more capable on-paper configuration for games that need more VRAM, while the ₹69,990 RTX 3050A model costs less but has 4GB and DDR4. Those distinctions matter more than the shared F16 name.

Upgrade limits depend on the exact model. ASUS lists the FX607VB-RL087WS with two accessible RAM slots, support up to 32GB DDR4, and two PCIe Gen 4×4 M.2 slots; the 512GB model can be expanded with storage up to 4TB according to its listing. The FX607VJB-RL179WS listing instead says its 16GB DDR5 memory can be expanded to 64GB. Confirm the SKU and memory type before planning an upgrade.

Ethernet is useful when a wired network is available and consistent latency matters for online play. The port list is documented on the FX607VJB-RL179WS listing.

Battery, portability and durability
The 56Wh battery sits in a chassis weighing about 2.20kg, before adding the power adapter. The FX607VB-RL087WS listing includes a 150W adapter and advertises charging from 0% to 50% in 30 minutes; that is an ASUS claim for that listed SKU, not a verified runtime or a guarantee for every F16 model. No battery-life figure is established here. Gaming laptops generally deliver their best performance while connected to AC power, and this size and weight are less convenient for daily commuting than an ultrabook.
ASUS describes the chassis as tested to MIL-STD 810H standards. That is a durability-testing claim, not a promise that the laptop is indestructible or waterproof.
Which F16 is the better buy?
- Choose the FX607VJB-RL179WS at ₹79,990 as listed if staying under ₹81,000 and getting 6GB RTX 3050 graphics with DDR5 memory are priorities. It is the closest current match to the budget in the title.
- Consider the FX607VB-RL087WS at ₹69,990 as listed if the lower price matters most and 4GB RTX 3050A graphics are acceptable for the games and settings you intend to use.
- Consider the FX607VJB-RL215WS at ₹87,990 as listed only if its 1TB SSD is worth exceeding the stated budget; it has the same listed 6GB RTX 3050 and DDR5 configuration as the 512GB option.
For any retailer listing, compare the complete model code, GPU name, VRAM capacity, RAM type and SSD size. A shortened title such as “TUF Gaming F16 RTX 3050” is not enough to identify the configuration. Game subscription promotions also vary: the launch report mentioned three months of Xbox Game Pass for PC, while ASUS’s current pages describe different offers for different SKUs. Check the exact listing’s eligibility and redemption terms rather than assuming an inclusion.
