If you’re stuck in rocks, a wall, or the floor in Atomic Heart, try a small jump and gentle directional movement away from the edge or seam. If that does not free your character—or you’ve fallen below the level—reload your latest save. These are practical first steps, not guaranteed ways to recover every situation. The publisher has documented and patched several environment collision and fall-through issues, but that does not establish that every stuck position is fixed or recoverable.
Try these steps first if you’re stuck in Atomic Heart
- If you’re caught against a rock, wall, or narrow seam: try a small jump and make a gentle directional adjustment away from the geometry once or twice. This is a low-risk attempt, not a recovery method confirmed by the publisher.
- If you remain trapped or have fallen through the floor: reload your most recent save. The available guidance does not guarantee that reloading will recover every position or save.
- Install the latest game update available for your platform. Focus Entertainment’s patch notes document fixes for environment-stuck and fall-through problems.
- If you play on Steam and problems persist: verify the game files. Focus Entertainment says checking file integrity may solve issues. Its instructions are on the official update and support page.
- If third-party software modifies your game client: Focus Entertainment advises removing that software and reinstalling the game, since modifications can affect functionality and support.
If the issue keeps happening, report it through Focus Entertainment’s issue-report form. Include your platform, game version, mission or area, what you were doing immediately before getting stuck, and whether reloading or restarting changed the result. This detail is practical advice to help make a report reproducible.

Is getting stuck in rocks, walls, or the floor a known issue?
Yes. Focus Entertainment’s official patch notes describe environment-stuck issues and collision fixes in specific areas. In its February 27, 2023 update, the publisher said patch 1.3.3.1 “Implemented system to fix all environment stuck issues.” The update described patches 1.3.3.0 and 1.3.3.1 as rolling out in February 2023 on PC and consoles, although the update header is marked “PC Steam only.” Treat that as patch history, not a guarantee that every platform or stuck position was covered. Read the February 27, 2023 update.
On March 10, 2023, Focus Entertainment said patch 1.3.4.0 was available on all platforms. Its notes list collision fixes in multiple locations to prevent players getting stuck, a fix for getting stuck in Testing Ground (Polygon 1), and a fix for falling under the map at the reflector near the end of the Magnetic Shock Absorption Zone. A later update addressed a separate fall-through problem: on February 8, 2024, Focus Entertainment said patch 1.13.3.0, rolled out for PC and consoles, “Fixed an issue causing players to fall under the landscape.” That confirms the publisher fixed a specific landscape issue; it does not show that every floor, wall, rock, or later save problem was resolved. Read the February 8, 2024 update.
Does the fix depend on where or how you got stuck?
Stuck against geometry or fallen below the level
Being wedged against a rock, wall, or floor seam is different from falling through the landscape. The patch notes cover both environment collision and particular fall-through cases, but do not provide a universal recovery command for a character already trapped. Try a small movement adjustment for a geometry snag; if that fails, reload your latest save.

Main game or Annihilation Instinct DLC
The main-game collision and landscape fixes are distinct from a rare lockout documented for the Annihilation Instinct DLC. In its August 28, 2023 update, Focus Entertainment said it fixed a case where a large number of enemies could lock players in tight areas during some DLC encounters. That is a specific DLC encounter issue, not evidence that all main-game geometry problems have the same cause. Read the August 28, 2023 update.
Steam or console
The March 2023 patch notes identify patch 1.3.4.0 as available on all platforms, while the February 2024 notes say patch 1.13.3.0 rolled out for PC and consoles. The February 2023 update has a “PC Steam only” header, so its rollout details should not be treated as a platform-by-platform guarantee. If you use Steam, file verification is the publisher’s stated troubleshooting recommendation; the cited guidance does not provide an equivalent console file-verification step.

What to include in a bug report
For a repeatable stuck or fall-through problem, use Focus Entertainment’s official issue-report form. A concise report can include:
- Platform and game version or build.
- Mission, area, and a nearby landmark.
- Whether you were stuck against geometry or fell below the landscape.
- The action immediately before the problem, such as jumping, entering an area, or fighting enemies.
- Whether reloading or restarting changed the result.
The publisher provides the reporting route; this checklist is suggested information to make the problem easier to reproduce, not a stated submission requirement.
