Yes. On May 6, 2025, Electronic Arts said it expected a Battlefield launch during its 2026 fiscal year, which ended March 31, 2026. That made “before April 2026” a reasonable shorthand for EA’s forecast window—not a confirmed release date. Battlefield 6 later launched within that window, and EA subsequently described it as the best-performing Battlefield in a fiscal year.
What EA actually expected
EA’s May 6, 2025 outlook said year-over-year net bookings growth in fiscal year 2026 was expected to be driven in part by “the launches of Battlefield and skate.” The statement placed a Battlefield launch in EA’s FY26 business outlook; it did not name Battlefield 6 in that sentence or give a calendar-day release date. EA’s FY26 outlook also warned that forward-looking statements were not guarantees of future performance and reflected management’s expectations at the time.
EA’s fiscal year 2026 ran through March 31, 2026. So “before April 2026” refers to the end of that fiscal-year window. It should not be read as an announcement that the game would arrive on a particular day, or as a promise that the schedule could not change.
Did Battlefield 6 launch within that window?
Yes. EA later announced Battlefield 6 as available for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. On PC, EA listed Steam, the EA app, and the Epic Games Store. The launch therefore occurred within the FY26 period EA had identified in its earlier outlook. EA’s launch announcement gives the supported platforms and storefronts.

What EA said about the launch
EA characterized Battlefield 6 as the biggest launch in franchise history and said millions of players joined. Those are EA’s descriptions; the cited announcement does not supply an independently audited sales total.
In its May 5, 2026 fiscal-year results, EA called Battlefield 6 “the best performing Battlefield in a fiscal year.” That is a later company assessment of performance, not a sales figure or independent measurement. EA’s FY26 results report that characterization.

Why the original wording can be confusing
“Expected before April 2026” can sound like a firm deadline. EA’s May 2025 statement was instead a company-wide financial outlook: it forecast FY26 bookings growth from several parts of its business, including Battlefield and skate. EA projected company-wide net bookings of approximately $7.600 billion to $8.000 billion for FY26; that range was not a Battlefield sales target.
The useful distinction is between a forecast window and a confirmed launch date. In May 2025, EA had identified the fiscal year in which it expected a Battlefield launch. The later launch announcement established that Battlefield 6 was available during that period.
