Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game’s Patch 3.0 puts the Freedom Fighters, Bosco and the King in Ba Sing Se—and adds open lobbies with match spectating. The official patch notes were last updated October 7, 2026. The update also reworks Ozai, adjusts Story Mode’s opening difficulty and adds Ozai tutorials and trials. Queuing and winner-stays-on settings are still planned for a future update.

Ba Sing Se gets the most visible update

The Ba Sing Se stage now features appearances by the Freedom Fighters, Bosco and the King. These are stage cameos rather than a stated addition to the playable roster. The official Patch 3.0 notes and the Steam patch notes describe the character and stage changes.

Open lobbies let more players watch and play

Patch 3.0 upgrades private lobbies to open lobbies. Hosts can configure rooms for 2–16 players, choose public or invite-only access, and set round time to the normal 60 seconds or infinite. They can also choose a win limit from first-to-1 through first-to-10, or allow infinite rematches.

Players can spectate an active match, with real-time rewind and fast-forward controls. The notes put the key point plainly: “Joining a full game session allows you to spectate the ongoing match.” Hosts can kick or ban players, and they can share lobby codes or hide them. The notes describe joining across platforms by lobby code for supported cross-platform lobbies; they do not establish that every feature is available on every platform at the same time.

What is not in the update yet

Queuing and winner-stays-on lobby settings are described as future additions, not delivered Patch 3.0 features. Players looking for either option should not assume it is available now.

Ozai and other character updates

Ozai receives reimagined gameplay, three new Critical Hits and tuning changes. All three supports are updated as well. Zuko and Katara get revised Final Technique animations, while Azula receives effects and victory-pose updates.

The balance notes also say character-specific bonus Flow regeneration no longer applies during hitstun or blockstun, affecting Kyoshi and Ozai. Other listed fixes address projectile Flow reactions, hitstop, scaling and throws. These are patch-note changes; the published material does not provide measured competitive-balance results or player-impact statistics.

Story Mode and practice changes

Story Mode now starts at an easier CPU difficulty and ramps up. The first seven fights give players buffs, and in-match popups explain moves such as Auto Combos. For practice, Patch 3.0 adds Ozai trials and tutorials. Some earlier trials have been replaced, and Challenges are temporarily unavailable while they are reworked.

Patch date and platform context

The official notes list October 7, 2026 as their last-updated date. They describe cross-platform lobby-code joining for supported cross-platform lobbies, but do not confirm that the entire patch landed on every platform simultaneously.

For context, Nintendo Life reported on August 2, 2026 that an earlier post-launch update was available and included a Samurai Appa support-character skin, keyboard remapping, Deluxe Edition colors and fixes. That report said the Switch version of that earlier update and future content were still on the way at the time; it does not establish when Patch 3.0 reached Switch. See Nintendo Life’s August 2 report for that earlier update.
