Avatar: Seven Havens comes after The Legend of Korra in the animated Avatar continuity. Its protagonist, Pavi, is the new Avatar who follows Korra. The official announcements do not establish how many years separate the two series, so “after Korra” is the confirmed answer rather than any precise year count.
The new series begins in a world shattered by a devastating cataclysm. People blame the Avatar for humanity’s ruin, forcing Pavi and her long-lost twin, Nisha, to uncover what happened while trying to save the Seven Havens.

The confirmed Avatar watch order
The animated continuity has a straightforward sequence:

| 2 | The Legend of Korra | Korra | Aang’s successor and the official animated spinoff set later in the same world. |
| 3 | Avatar: Seven Havens | Pavi | The next Avatar, explicitly described by Nickelodeon as coming “after Korra.” |
This is the order for the animated shows. Live-action adaptations are separate versions and are not extra chapters to insert between these three series.

Does Seven Havens take place after The Legend of Korra?
Yes. Nickelodeon’s February 20, 2025 announcement and Paramount’s September 10, 2026 announcement both describe Pavi as the new Avatar after Korra. Paramount’s July 2026 Comic-Con material also corroborates the sequel order, format and platform.
That wording answers the succession question, not the calendar question. The official announcements reviewed for the series do not give an elapsed-years figure between the end of Korra and the beginning of Seven Havens. A GamesRadar+ explainer published October 4, 2026 offers an estimate, but the estimate is not confirmed by the primary announcements. Until an official source supplies a number, the accurate description is simply that Seven Havens is set after Korra.
Why the missing number matters
Avatar succession does not automatically tell you how much time has passed. A new Avatar is born when the previous Avatar dies, but the age of that successor, the length of the search for them and the interval before the story begins can vary. The public material for Seven Havens identifies Pavi as the successor without fixing those dates. Treating an uncorroborated estimate as canon would make the timeline more precise than the evidence allows.

Seven Havens is not presented as a routine continuation of Korra’s political or technological era. Its official premise starts after a devastating cataclysm has shattered the world. The surviving society is organized around seven havens, and the Avatar is viewed as humanity’s destroyer rather than its protector.
That accusation is part of the setting and the conflict. The announcements do not identify the cataclysm’s cause, and they do not establish that Korra personally caused it. The safe distinction is: people in this era blame the Avatar, while the truth behind the disaster is one of the mysteries the series must investigate.

Pavi, the new Avatar
Pavi is introduced as a young Earthbender who discovers that she is the Avatar after Korra. The announcement therefore gives viewers an immediate contrast with the previous two leads: Aang began as an Air Nomad, Korra was already a powerful Water Tribe bender, and Pavi’s first known identity is that of an Earthbender.
Her status is dangerous rather than celebrated. Human and spirit enemies hunt her, and she must operate in a world where the title “Avatar” inspires fear. The story’s central question is not only whether Pavi can master the four elements, but whether she can learn what happened to the world and why the Avatar has become its scapegoat.
Quick wins for a faster PC:
Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Nisha, Pavi’s twin
Pavi’s long-lost twin is Nisha. The sisters are central to both the mystery of their origins and the effort to save the Seven Havens. Their relationship gives the new series a personal investigation alongside its civilization-scale crisis: Pavi is searching for the truth about the Avatar, while the twins are also trying to understand how they became separated and what their past means.
The official material names Nisha but does not disclose every detail of the twins’ history. Claims about their exact childhood, the reason they were separated or a hidden connection to the cataclysm should be treated as speculation until the episodes establish them.
How Seven Havens is structured
Nickelodeon announced two books, each consisting of 13 half-hour episodes. The planned format is therefore 26 episodes across the two books, although the first published schedule covers Book 1 only.

Who appears in the new series
Paramount’s September 2026 release identifies the principal voice cast as follows:
- Saheli Khan as Pavi, the new Avatar.
- Aishu Devan as Nisha, Pavi’s long-lost twin.
- Akshay Khanna as Karthik.
- Major Curda as Jae.
- Sakina Jaffrey as Agam.
- Darren Barnet as Daemin.
- Dianne Doan as Zi.
- Dee Bradley Baker as Geet and Ruhi.
The cast list confirms character names and roles announced by Paramount; it does not, by itself, establish where those characters sit in the post-cataclysm timeline or how they connect to Korra’s generation.
How to watch the timeline in the right order
If you are starting the animated continuity, use this sequence:
- Watch Avatar: The Last Airbender. The original series follows Aang and runs for three seasons and 61 episodes, according to Nickelodeon’s franchise announcement.
- Continue with The Legend of Korra. It is the animated spinoff and follows the next Avatar in the same continuity.
- Watch Avatar: Seven Havens after Korra. Pavi is the successor Avatar, and the series’ world has changed dramatically by the time her story starts.
You do not need to insert a live-action adaptation into this order. Those productions reinterpret the property rather than functioning as chronological episodes between the animated shows.

The creator and franchise context
The announcement places Seven Havens within a franchise that continues to expand decades after the original series. In the February 20, 2025 Nickelodeon statement, creators Michael DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko said: “When we created the original series, we never imagined we’d still be expanding the world decades later.”
That context explains why the new show can move beyond familiar locations and still belong to the same animated universe. The premise retains the Avatar cycle, bending and the human–spirit relationship, but changes the political and moral position of the Avatar. Instead of entering a world that expects a savior, Pavi enters one that expects a destroyer.
Where to watch
Paramount’s official announcement identifies Paramount+ as the global premiere service for Avatar: Seven Havens. Availability, episode timing and regional catalogues can vary, so use the service’s current listing for your country. The announcement does not make a separate claim that every earlier Avatar episode is available in every region on the same service.
If you want to revisit the chronology, start with the animated Aang series and then move to The Legend of Korra before beginning Pavi’s story. A physical complete-series release of Avatar: The Last Airbender can also serve as a rewatch option, but no particular edition is required to understand the order.
Common timeline mistakes to avoid
Do not assign a confirmed year count
Official descriptions confirm succession but not an exact interval. If a guide gives a number, label it as an estimate rather than established canon.

Do not state that Korra destroyed the world
The premise is about public blame. It does not identify the cataclysm’s cause or prove that Korra caused it.
Do not treat the seven havens as seven seasons
The title refers to the places the shattered world is trying to save or preserve. The announced television format is two books of 13 half-hour episodes, not seven books or seven seasons.
Do not confuse release order with story order
Seven Havens is the newest announced series, but its position is also chronological: it follows Korra because Pavi is the next Avatar.

The defensible timeline is therefore simple even though the new world is not: Aang’s Avatar: The Last Airbender, then Korra’s series, then Pavi’s Avatar: Seven Havens. The exact number of years between the last two remains unconfirmed, while the cataclysm, the twins’ history and the reason the Avatar is hated are the mysteries the new story is designed to explore.
