Which Avowed mods target performance and visuals?
Ultra Plus Best Performance and Visuals for Everyone
Ultra Plus describes a custom skylight system, stutter and noise reduction, and controls for balancing visual fidelity against performance. Its listing identifies version 1.5.3 and a last update of March 27, 2026. The author recommends installing through Ultra+ Manager or by manually extracting the files. The page warns that using Engine.ini mods alongside Ultra Plus may cause crashes or visual issues.
BT – Avowed Advanced Performance Framework
BT Advanced Performance Framework offers four profiles—Ultra, High, Low, and Potato—and describes memory management and engine-level tweaks. The author presents the profiles as targeting different hardware and VRAM classes; those labels are not a guarantee that a profile suits a particular PC. The listing was last updated February 17, 2025.
BT provides separate installation instructions for Steam and Game Pass. For Steam, the files go in a ~mods directory under the game files; the Game Pass instructions specify a separate path. Follow the current page’s exact path for your edition rather than assuming the locations are interchangeable. Its listing warns that other engine optimization mods are incompatible.

Update dates are useful context, not proof that a mod works with a particular current game build. The mod pages and author posts describe intended changes, not independent comparative testing.

How to choose and install cautiously
- Check the mod’s current page first. Confirm its supported game version, latest instructions, and compatibility notes before downloading; game builds and mod versions can change.
- Choose one approach based on your goal. Consider Ultra Plus for its stated visual-balance and lighting controls, or BT for its named performance profiles. QTmodz’s listing is another visual-and-performance-tweak option, but its last listed update is older.
- Follow the instructions for your edition. BT specifies distinct Steam and Game Pass installation paths. Ultra Plus offers manager-based or manual installation. Do not substitute a path from one mod or edition for another.
- Avoid stacking engine-level tweaks. Ultra Plus warns about Engine.ini conflicts, and BT warns that other engine optimization mods are incompatible. Do not combine these frameworks or add other engine tweaks unless the relevant mod instructions explicitly confirm compatibility.
- Check the result on your own system. A creator’s performance claims are not a promise of a particular frame-rate or latency improvement on your hardware.
What performance claims can you rely on?
The reviewed listings do not provide independent benchmark evidence establishing a guaranteed FPS, stutter, input-lag, or memory improvement. BT’s page includes percentage claims for stutter, input lag, and memory improvements, but these are claims from the mod listing rather than independently verified measurements. Ultra Plus and QTmodz likewise describe intended benefits, not results proven across PCs. Treat descriptions as a guide to each mod’s purpose, and judge compatibility and results on your own setup.
