The Axe of Godfrey is a Colossal Weapon in Elden Ring (2022). To obtain it, trade the Remembrance of Hoarah Loux—earned by defeating Hoarah Loux, Warrior—with Finger Reader Enia at Roundtable Hold. Its signature skill, Regal Roar, spends FP to create a shockwave and temporarily changes the weapon’s heavy attacks.
How to get the Axe of Godfrey

Defeat Hoarah Loux, Warrior, to receive the Remembrance of Hoarah Loux.

Speak with Finger Reader Enia at Roundtable Hold and trade the Remembrance for the Axe of Godfrey. The Eldenpedia Axe of Godfrey page lists this as the weapon’s acquisition method.
The Remembrance can instead be duplicated at a Wandering Mausoleum, then exchanged with Enia. The reference page says only one Axe of Godfrey can be obtained per playthrough using either method; duplicating the Remembrance does not provide a second copy of the weapon.

Axe of Godfrey stats and requirements
The following are the values listed on the Eldenpedia weapon page, accessed in 2026. They are reference-page values, not independently tested measurements, and may depend on upgrade state or game version.

Two-handing lowers the listed Strength requirement to 28; it does not change the listed Dexterity requirement. The page lists D scaling in both Strength and Dexterity, so the displayed requirements alone do not establish how the weapon will perform for a particular character or build.

What Regal Roar does
Regal Roar costs 25 FP and 35 stamina, according to the Eldenpedia Regal Roar page. Activating it triggers a roar and ground stomp that sends out a shockwave described by the page as unblockable. While its effect is active, the weapon gains an attack buff and its heavy and charged attacks change, including a lunging slash and altered attack sequences.
The skill page lists a 40-second buff, a 7.5% increase to physical attack power, and an added 0.05 to the Strength-scaling multiplier. These detailed mechanics are community-reference values, not independently tested here. Its patch-history summary records version 1.07 adjustments to effect duration and attack timing, as well as a version 1.04 recovery-time reduction; the current official game version and platform-specific behavior have not been established.

What the weapon represents
The Axe of Godfrey page reproduces its item description: “Weapon of Godfrey, Elden Lord. It was broken in a battle fought as leader of the Tarnished during the Long March.” The description calls it a symbol of Godfrey’s vow to conduct himself as a lord and says it later became an emblem of the Golden Lineage. In the game’s first-phase encounter, Godfrey’s Regal Roar is separately described as raising the axe, roaring, and stomping to create a shockwave (Eldenpedia Godfrey, First Elden Lord page).

The listed requirements make this a high-Strength weapon with a Dexterity requirement, while Regal Roar adds an FP cost and changes how heavy attacks work. Those facts can help you decide whether its requirements and skill fit your character, but they do not establish that it is objectively best—or poor—for a Strength build. That judgment depends on the alternatives, upgrade state, stat allocation, and whether you value its skill and moveset in your PvE or PvP use case.
