Choose the items that support your build and your current stage of the game; they are recommendations, not an official ranking.
How to choose Rogue gear
Build and progression change what is useful. GameSkinny’s 2024 guide favors ranged Rogue play early to mid game for safety, while noting that melee options can become especially effective with Act 3 gear. A stealth-focused character may instead prioritize Dexterity checks, concealment, and repositioning. 1. Risky Ring — attack advantage at a defensive cost
Risky Ring grants advantage on attack rolls, which makes it an offensive choice for a Rogue who wants more reliable attacks. The tradeoff is disadvantage on saving throws, so it can leave the wearer more vulnerable to effects resisted with saves. That makes it relevant to checks as well as a character’s ability-score setup; it is not a universal pick if another body-slot item better serves your build. 3. Ring of Shadows — stealth with concentration required
The Ring of Shadows provides +10 to Stealth according to the stealth guide, but requires concentration. 4. Deathstalker Mantle — conditional invisibility for Dark Urge
The Deathstalker Mantle can support a stealth-oriented character through conditional invisibility. It is restricted to Dark Urge playthroughs, so it is not available to every Rogue or campaign. 5. Boots of Speed — bonus-action movement for repositioning
The stealth guide recommends Boots of Speed for their bonus-action movement boost, particularly for lower-level Rogues. 8. Disintegrating Night Walkers — mobility and movement protection

Slots and action economy create opportunity costs: equipping one ring, cloak, pair of boots, or weapon means not using another item in that slot, while spending a bonus action or concentration can displace another tactic. The best choice is the one that advances your Rogue’s job without undermining the rest of the build.
Other gear worth considering
Two additional candidates in GameSkinny’s 2024 list are Gloves of the Balanced Hands, recommended for off-hand damage in a dual-wield setup, and Elegant Studded Leather, an armor option. Their appeal depends on the build and slot competition rather than making them universal Rogue essentials.
