Abyss Beckoners can make your summoned creatures resistant to almost every type of damage, but creatures affected by the gloves must pass a Wisdom saving throw at the start of each turn or become Mad. They work best with summons that are immune to Demonspirit Madness or reliably pass the save; otherwise, consider whether the defensive boost is worth that recurring risk.
What the Abyss Beckoners do
The very rare gloves grant the wearer’s summoned creatures the Demonspirit Aura. Affected summons gain resistance to all damage except psychic damage, but at the start of each of their turns they must make a Wisdom saving throw. On a failure, the creature is driven Mad.
The aura extends 9 m (30 ft) from the wearer, so a summon’s position matters: a creature outside the radius is not in range to receive the aura’s benefit or its associated Madness effect.
Which summons are safest to use with them?
The BG3 Wiki lists several summons as immune to Demonspirit Madness. These are the strongest candidates when you want the aura’s resistance without the listed risk of being driven Mad.

Devas summoned through Planar Ally: Deva or Sights of the Seelie: Summon Deva are described as effectively safe because they have a +9 Wisdom saving throw bonus. The wiki explains that +9 is enough to always succeed on ordinary saving throws.
Summons the aura does not affect
Guardian of Faith and Grasping Vine are described as unaffected because they lack the SUMMON tag. They do not receive the aura’s resistance, but they also are not subject to its Madness effect.

How to decide whether to equip the gloves
- Check the creature’s interaction with the aura. If it is listed as immune to Demonspirit Madness, or has the Deva’s stated +9 Wisdom save, the gloves are a more straightforward choice.
- Check the summon’s position. The 9 m (30 ft) radius makes proximity to the wearer part of the decision. Keep vulnerable summons out of the aura if you do not want them making the recurring save.
- Weigh the benefit against the risk. For a summon that is neither immune nor reliably successful on its Wisdom save, the resistance to non-psychic damage comes with a chance of Madness at the start of every affected turn. The wiki does not provide a general success rate for other summons, so check the creature’s save rather than assuming it is safe.
Where to find the Abyss Beckoners
The gloves are in a locked chest inside a cell in the Zhentarim Basement, at X: 306, Y: -170. The BG3 Wiki is a community-maintained source rather than an official rules reference, so check the in-game tooltip if a patch or mod may have changed the item’s behavior.
