Discovery puts the DC portfolio, including Batman, and Paramount’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles franchise under one corporate owner. Associated Press reported that the deal closed on October 6, 2026. What the available announcements do not show, as of October 9, 2026, is a merged game division, a new Batman game, or a shared game slate. The phrase “gaming shake-up” in the headline runs ahead of the confirmed facts.
What the deal is valued at
Paramount’s transaction announcement said it would acquire 100% of Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD) for $31 per share in cash plus a ticking fee. The announcement put WBD’s value at $81 billion in equity value and $110 billion in enterprise value. Those are different measures, and the headline figure should be labeled accordingly.
| Measure | Figure | Source and basis |
|---|---|---|
| Equity value of WBD | $81 billion | Paramount Skydance Corporation transaction announcement, 2026 |
| Enterprise value of WBD | $110 billion | Paramount Skydance Corporation transaction announcement, 2026 |
| Overall deal total including debt | $111 billion | Associated Press report, October 6, 2026 |
The $110 billion and $111 billion figures describe the same transaction on different terms; they are not competing estimates of one number. Neither figure is a gaming-market valuation or a budget for game development.

Paramount Games
Paramount Games describes its June 2026 studio as a unified organization across Paramount and Skydance gaming studios. Its announcement says:
“Designed to transform world-class IP into immersive franchise experiences, the new studio includes all Paramount and Skydance gaming studios, including Skydance Interactive and Skydance New Media as distinct development teams.”
Rank #2
In that structure, Skydance Games is the publishing label, and Skydance Interactive and Skydance New Media are development teams. The company’s headline for the launch was “New Studio Combines AAA Skydance Games with Paramount’s IP to Create an Interactive Powerhouse.” The announcement covers Paramount and Skydance studios; it does not describe WB Games as part of that structure.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Last Ronin
This is the one confirmed game tied directly to the TMNT side of the combined portfolio.

What is confirmed
- It is an announced AAA action-adventure game.
- PlatinumGames is developing it.
- Paramount says it is based on the popular Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles comic series.
What is not confirmed
- A release date.
- Platforms.
- Preorders or a retail edition.
The announcement does not establish any of these, so the game should not be treated as available to buy.
What the merger does and does not establish
Common ownership is the confirmed change. Whether it leads to shared game work is a separate question, and the sources available as of October 9, 2026 do not answer it.

Readers should treat the following as the kinds of announcements that would change the picture. Each would need to come from the companies or from direct reporting, not from inference about the deal’s size.
