Battlefield 6’s battle royale map is not merely a leaked plan: EA launched Battlefield REDSEC with Battle Royale on Fort Lyndon, and later announced a new point of interest for that map. The older leak headline came from coverage that advertised a “first look,” but the available listing does not verify the leaked details or show that they were accurate.
What the Battlefield 6 battle royale map leak actually established
A WhosImmortal video listing published July 27, 2025, was titled “BATTLEFIELD 6 BATTLE ROYALE MAP FIRST LOOK! (Huge LEAKS)” and described coverage of map locations. That confirms leak-focused coverage existed; it does not independently confirm the locations shown, the leak’s accuracy, or the claim that the map would be absent at release. See the WhosImmortal listing.
That distinction matters because the headline is historical. EA’s later launch announcement identifies Fort Lyndon as the REDSEC Battle Royale map, while its August 2026 update announces an additional location within it. The supported account is therefore what the leak coverage claimed versus what EA officially released and subsequently changed—not a verified account of leaked geography.
What EA launched in Battlefield REDSEC
EA announced Battlefield REDSEC as live alongside Battlefield 6 Season 1. REDSEC is EA’s free-to-play experience and does not require ownership of Battlefield 6. Its launch modes were Battle Royale, Gauntlet, and Portal. EA’s REDSEC launch announcement describes Fort Lyndon as a Southern California setting combining a beach community, military compounds, and suburban neighborhoods.

EA’s launch format for Battle Royale was 100 players: either 25 squads of four or 50 duos. Those are launch-format details from EA, not an independently measured statistic, and the reviewed announcement passage does not state a calendar launch date.
Fort Lyndon’s later update: USS Grant
In a community update dated August 6, 2026, EA announced that its Top Gun update would arrive August 18 and add the USS Grant to Battle Royale on Fort Lyndon. EA described the crashed carrier as a source of higher-value loot and said it would be designated a High Value Zone for the first few weeks after the update launched. The USS Grant is an addition to the existing map, not evidence that the map itself was still unreleased. EA’s announcement gives August 6 as the announcement date and August 18 as the planned arrival date; those should not be conflated.

Because REDSEC is free to play without owning Battlefield 6, the base game is not a prerequisite for dropping into its Battle Royale mode. EA’s launch announcement lists Battle Royale, Gauntlet, and Portal as REDSEC’s modes. Check EA’s official REDSEC information for current availability and access details, which can change over time.
