Battlefield 6 Beta Cheating: What EA’s Reports and Anti-Cheat Measures Show

Players reported suspected cheating during the Battlefield 6 beta, and EA said its systems stopped hundreds of thousands of attempts to cheat or tamper with anti-cheat controls. Those figures do not establish how many unique cheaters were active, how many matches were affected, or whether players had “impossible powers.” They are early, beta-era figures—not current enforcement totals.

What EA reported about cheating in the beta

Electronic Arts anti-cheat team member AC told TechCrunch that, during the beta’s first two days online in 2025, players submitted 104,000 reports of potential cheaters and EA blocked 330,000 attempts to cheat or tamper with anti-cheat controls. These are separate measures: player reports are allegations, while blocked attempts are system actions. Neither number counts confirmed unique cheaters or proves that every report was accurate. TechCrunch reported that EA had not provided updated ban totals at the time.

TechCrunch’s August 11, 2025 report is the source for the beta figures. They describe the beta period, not Battlefield 6’s current cheating rate.

What anti-cheat measures EA uses on PC

Javelin anti-cheat

EA says Battlefield 6 requires its Javelin anti-cheat system on PC. EA describes Javelin as an anti-cheat system used for Battlefield and other EA first-person shooters. Its rules say the system is part of the game’s enforcement approach, but EA does not present it as a guarantee that cheating can be eliminated.

Secure Boot

EA also requires Secure Boot to play Battlefield 6 on PC. In its August 4, 2025 explanation, EA said the requirement supports defenses against threats including cheats that interfere with the boot process, kernel-level cheats, memory manipulation, spoofing, virtual machines and attempts to tamper with anti-cheat controls. That is EA’s stated security rationale; Secure Boot is one part of the system, not a standalone cheat detector.

AC later told TechCrunch that Secure Boot “is not, and was not intended to be a silver bullet.” Battlefield 6 technical director Christian Buhl likewise told PC Gamer that the measure is helpful but that cheating cannot be solved completely. Secure Boot can make some attack methods harder, but EA acknowledges that anti-cheat work has to adjust as tactics change.

EA says it needs clear evidence of cheating to ban a player. That distinction matters when interpreting reports: a report can help investigators, but it is not itself confirmation or a ban.

How to report suspected cheating

  1. Use Battlefield 6’s in-game report feature when you suspect cheating. EA recommends in-game reporting as the direct route for flagging behavior.
  2. Provide the relevant details available in the report flow. EA says in-game reports add telemetry that can assist investigations.
  3. Use EA’s official support and appeal channels if you need to follow up on a concern or challenge an enforcement action. EA’s rules and support guidance direct players to formal reporting and appeal systems so concerns are tracked.

Do anti-cheat rules ban accessibility controllers?

No—not the named options in EA’s current Season 4 guidance. EA’s August 28, 2026 anti-cheat update says Xbox Adaptive Controller, PlayStation Access Controller and Steam Input are supported and are not prohibited. EA also says it may restrict products after evaluating them if it believes allowing them undermines fair play; that general policy does not change the stated status of those supported options.
