The Battlefield 6 beta ran in August 2025 and is no longer playable. EA called the restricted August 7–8 window “Early Access to the Open Beta”; the no-code open weekends followed on August 9–11 and August 14–18, with the published UTC start and end times below.
Battlefield 6 beta dates and times
EA announced this schedule on July 31, 2025. All times below are UTC, and all windows have ended.
| Window | Start | End | Who could play |
|---|---|---|---|
| Early Access to the Open Beta | August 7, 2025, 08:00 UTC | August 9, 2025, 08:00 UTC | Restricted access; eligibility routes are described below. |
| Open Beta, Weekend 1 | August 9, 2025, 08:00 UTC | August 11, 2025, 08:00 UTC | Anyone; no code required. |
| Open Beta, Weekend 2 | August 14, 2025, 08:00 UTC | August 18, 2025, 08:00 UTC | Anyone; no code required. |
EA’s commonly used local-date labels were August 7–8 for Early Access, August 9–10 for Weekend 1, and August 14–17 for Weekend 2. The UTC end times fell on the following calendar day. See EA’s beta schedule announcement for the official schedule.
Was there a separate closed beta?
Not in the schedule EA announced. The first period was restricted Early Access to the Open Beta, rather than a separately named closed beta. Battlefield Labs registrants who signed up before July 31, 2025, could enter using the EA Account they registered; no code was needed. Other viewers could unlock Early Access by watching selected creators during the July 31 reveal streams on Twitch. The two later weekends were open to everyone and did not require codes.

Platforms, account setup, and preload
The 2025 beta was available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC through Steam, Epic Games Store, and the EA app. EA instructed players to link their EA Account to their platform account. Preload was scheduled for August 4, 2025, at 15:00 UTC (8:00 a.m. PT), but that was a historical download window, not a current way to get the beta.
EA also required Secure Boot for the PC beta client. That beta-specific requirement should not be taken as confirmation of the released game’s current PC requirements.

What the beta included
The playable maps and modes expanded for the second open weekend, according to EA’s August 4, 2025 beta guide.
Maps
- Weekend 1: Siege of Cairo, Liberation Peak, and Iberian Offensive.
- Weekend 2: those three maps, plus Empire State, an infantry-only map set in Brooklyn.
Modes and challenges
- Weekend 1 modes: Conquest, Closed Weapons Breakthrough, Breakthrough, Domination, and King of the Hill.
- Weekend 2 additions: Rush and Squad Deathmatch.
- EA listed seven Week 1 challenges and three Week 2 challenges. Completing them offered rewards intended for use when the full game released.
Can you still play the Battlefield 6 beta?
No. Both open weekends and the restricted Early Access period ended in August 2025. EA announced Battlefield 6 for release on October 10, 2025, and its October 16 announcement said the game was available on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. The beta dates do not provide a current download or access route. EA reported more than 7 million copies sold in the game’s first three days; that is the publisher’s figure, not an independently audited count. See EA’s availability announcement.
