If those checks pass, compare the challenge page before and after a match, then look for an official report about that specific challenge. EA has fixed individual tracking and display bugs, but there is no confirmed universal workaround.
Check whether the challenge is unlocked for your rank
A challenge can look broken when it is still locked behind a rank requirement. EA says a red challenge screen or red pop-up means you are not eligible yet. Check the challenge’s requirement and your current rank before trying to progress it. EA’s Battlefield 6 error-message guidance explains what the red status means.
Match your actions to the exact objective
Read the full challenge text and verify the required weapon or gadget, action, mode or match condition, and whether the task must be completed in one match. A mismatch between a challenge description and its actual requirement has happened before: an older EA known-issues post said the Weapon Expert Unit Challenge description was wrong and that the requirement was 15 longshot kills in one match. That is a historical example, not confirmation that the same issue is active now. EA’s older known-issues post documents it.
Check whether only the progress display is wrong
Compare the challenge page before and after a match rather than relying only on the End of Round screen. EA’s September 2026 Update 1.4.3.0 notes say the team corrected an issue that could make challenge progress display incorrectly on that screen. A faulty end-of-round display does not, by itself, establish that the underlying progress was lost. Read the Update 1.4.3.0 notes.

See whether EA has listed your specific issue
Look up the exact challenge name in EA Forums and check the latest @Battlefield updates. EA’s current help guidance recommends checking the forums for reports when a challenge is not working or tracking in-game, and posting there if the issue is not listed.
Known fixes are challenge-specific, so match any report to the challenge and update you are playing. For example, EA’s August 3, 2026 Update 1.4.1.5 notes say it corrected the Season 3 Catch-Up Hardware Challenge for the PP-19 so it would track Suppression Assists earned with SMGs. That fix is evidence of a defect in that particular challenge—not evidence that another challenge has the same cause. Read the Update 1.4.1.5 notes.

In its September 16, 2026 status roundup after Update 1.4.3.0 and a client hotfix, EA listed several issues under investigation, but did not list challenge tracking. EA also said it continued to investigate additional reports; the roundup is a dated snapshot, not proof that every unlisted challenge issue is resolved. See the September 16 status roundup.
Report a challenge that still will not track
If you cannot find a report for the issue, post it on EA Forums as EA recommends. Include enough detail for others to reproduce and identify it:

- The exact challenge name and full objective text
- Your platform and game version or update
- The mode and server type
- The action you performed and whether you completed the match
- The challenge progress before and after the match, and where you saw it
What is not established
Without the challenge name, platform, mode, and details of the actions taken, it is not possible to tell whether a particular case is a rank gate, a misunderstood condition, a display problem, or a current game defect. The official guidance and update notes do not establish a universal fix. Generic steps such as restarting or reinstalling the game are not confirmed here as challenge-tracking fixes.
