Battlefield 6’s recommended PC target is Windows 11 64-bit, an Intel Core i7-10700 or AMD Ryzen 7 3700X, 16GB of RAM, and an Nvidia RTX 3060 Ti, AMD RX 6700 XT, or Intel Arc B580. EA associated that hardware tier with approximately 1440p at 60 frames per second on High settings—not 4K or maximum settings.
The Battlefield Labs FAQ was an early disclosure, but EA later published the requirements through its official Battlefield channels. Since Battlefield 6 launched on October 10, 2025, the FAQ is best understood as the historical source of the target rather than an unverified leak.

What performance does the recommended tier target?
The associated FAQ described the recommended hardware as a target for approximately 1440p resolution, 60 FPS, and High settings. It also indicated that the same tier could target approximately 1080p at 80 FPS or higher on Low settings.
That is a performance target, not a guarantee for every map, game mode, driver version, or PC configuration. Large multiplayer battles can place substantially more pressure on the CPU than a quiet scene or campaign sequence. The DICE and Intel performance presentation likewise based its results on development hardware and noted that results vary by configuration.
In practical terms, “recommended” should not be read as “4K at maximum settings.” It is closer to a 1440p High baseline, with upscaling and other rendering features available on supported hardware.

Why EA lists 55GB, 80GB, and roughly 90GB
The storage figures describe different installation configurations rather than a single unresolved contradiction:
- 55 GiB: the minimum listing’s base storage requirement.
- 80 GiB: the formal recommended storage figure, with an SSD specified.
- Approximately 90GB: the broader FAQ’s estimate when the high-resolution texture pack and the full campaign and multiplayer installation are included.
Battlefield 6 allows players to select certain components and assets, so the installed size can vary. Leave additional free space for updates even if the initial installation fits within the published figure. An HDD may satisfy the listed minimum, but an SSD is the more appropriate choice for the recommended target and should provide better loading and asset-streaming behavior.

Is Windows 11 required?
EA placed Windows 10 in the minimum tier and Windows 11 in the recommended tier. That does not mean every Windows 10 PC is automatically unsupported, but Windows 11 is the operating-system target associated with the recommended configuration.
The more important issue for some systems is the security stack. A PC with adequate CPU and GPU hardware can still fail the game’s launch checks if TPM 2.0, Secure Boot, or the required Windows virtualization-based security features are disabled or unavailable.

TPM 2.0, Secure Boot, HVCI, and VBS explained
- TPM 2.0: a hardware or firmware security module used by modern Windows security functions.
- UEFI Secure Boot: a firmware setting that permits trusted boot software to load.
- HVCI: Hypervisor-Protected Code Integrity, which helps Windows protect kernel-level code.
- VBS: Virtualization-Based Security, which uses virtualization to isolate and protect parts of Windows.
EA identifies these requirements as part of the game’s anti-cheat and platform-security measures. If the game reports a security failure, do not disable the protections simply to bypass the error. Check whether the system boots in UEFI mode, whether TPM is enabled in the firmware, whether Secure Boot is active, and whether Windows Security reports compatible HVCI/VBS support. Firmware menus differ by motherboard manufacturer, so consult the board or PC maker’s documentation before changing settings.

DLSS, XeSS, FSR, and frame generation
The FAQ listed support for Nvidia DLSS 4, Intel XeSS 2, AMD FSR 4, Nvidia Reflex, DLAA, and frame-generation features on supported hardware.
Upscaling renders the game internally at a lower resolution and reconstructs a higher-resolution image. Frame generation creates additional displayed frames between traditionally rendered frames. These options can improve the apparent frame rate, but they do not turn a weak CPU or unsupported GPU into recommended hardware.
They also cannot remove CPU bottlenecks, insufficient VRAM, shader-compilation stutter, driver problems, or the input-latency trade-offs that can accompany frame generation. Treat them as performance aids after the underlying system is suitable for the game.

If you meet the recommended tier
A PC close to the listed CPU and GPU combinations is aimed at the stated 1440p High, approximately 60 FPS target. Keep graphics drivers current and use an SSD with sufficient free space. Equivalent parts will not perform identically, particularly across different cooling systems, power limits, memory configurations, and driver versions.
If you meet only the minimum tier
The minimum specification is aimed at approximately 1080p, Low settings, and 30 FPS. It is not a 1440p/60 configuration. Lowering settings may help, but systems below minimum can still encounter unsupported graphics features, limited VRAM, severe frame-time spikes, driver instability, streaming delays, or security-check failures.
If you have a strong GPU but an older CPU
Large multiplayer matches may become CPU-limited even when the graphics card is capable of the target resolution. A system with an RTX 3060 Ti-class GPU but a substantially weaker processor may not sustain the recommended frame rate consistently.
If you have a newer CPU but an older GPU
The GPU becomes the likely limitation at 1440p High. An older 6GB graphics card may need lower settings or a lower resolution, especially when texture quality and other memory-intensive options are increased.

If the game is installed on an HDD
Storage is the most straightforward upgrade when the rest of the system is close to the recommended tier. Confirm whether the PC supports a SATA SSD or an NVMe M.2 drive before buying. A fast NVMe drive is not suitable for a system without a compatible M.2 slot, while a SATA SSD can still be a practical improvement on an older PC.
If the hardware is adequate but the game will not launch
Check security settings first: TPM 2.0, UEFI mode, Secure Boot, and HVCI/VBS compatibility. Then update Windows and the graphics driver, and check for firmware updates from the motherboard or PC manufacturer. Do not assume that meeting the CPU and GPU names alone satisfies every platform requirement.
What about 16GB of RAM?
EA lists 16GB for both minimum and recommended configurations, so 32GB is not an official requirement. However, browsers, launchers, recording software, overlays, and other background applications can put pressure on a 16GB system. Dual-channel memory and correctly enabled memory profiles can also matter for consistency. Consider 32GB as a practical quality-of-life upgrade, not as a published Battlefield 6 specification.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsIntel Arc B580 in the recommended list
The Intel Arc B580 appearing alongside the Nvidia and AMD alternatives shows that EA and DICE treated Intel’s newer discrete GPU as a first-class reference target. The practical comparison can still vary with driver maturity, game updates, upscaling mode, and regional availability. GPU names alone are not a guarantee of identical frame rates.
Will Battlefield 6 run on Steam Deck?
The FAQ said Steam Deck had no dedicated support and that compatibility was not guaranteed. That is separate from the ordinary Windows PC requirements: even if a handheld appears to meet some component thresholds, official support, anti-cheat compatibility, operating-system behavior, and acceptable performance may differ.
The current status of the FAQ requirements
The Battlefield Labs FAQ was an early source for the recommended hardware and performance targets. EA subsequently published official requirements, and Battlefield 6 launched on October 10, 2025. For a purchase or upgrade decision, use the published requirements as the baseline, but remember that targets describe broad reference performance rather than a locked frame rate in every multiplayer situation.
EA’s official purchase pages are available through EA, while the game’s Steam listing provides current storefront and account-linking information.
