Battlefield 6 released on October 10, 2025 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Its two public Open Beta weekends ran August 9–10 and August 14–17, 2025; early access ran August 7–8. All of those dates have passed.
Battlefield 6 release date and platforms
Electronic Arts announced the October 10, 2025 release date on July 31, 2025. EA later confirmed that the game launched on that date. At launch, EA listed the Standard Edition for USD $69.99 and the Phantom Edition for USD $99.99; those were announced launch prices, not verified current prices. EA’s launch announcement described the editions and availability.
The announced platforms were PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC through Steam, the EA app, and the Epic Games Store. The original multiplayer announcement is available from EA.
Battlefield 6 open beta dates and access
The public beta did not require a code. EA also offered earlier access to eligible players through two routes: registration for Battlefield Labs before July 31, 2025, or watching select creators during the July 31 reveal streams on Twitch to unlock access. EA said players needed to link their EA Account to their platform account.

What EA revealed about Battlefield 6
EA presented the game as a return to large-scale combined-arms combat, destructible environments, player freedom, and a single-player campaign alongside multiplayer. The campaign premise centers on Pax Armata, a private military corporation bankrolled by former NATO states; that is the game’s fictional setup, not a real-world claim. EA said Battlefield Studios comprises Criterion Games, DICE, Motive Studio, and Ripple Effect. These details appeared in EA’s July 24, 2025 trailer announcement.
Modes and maps
The multiplayer reveal named returning modes Conquest, Breakthrough, and Rush, along with Team Deathmatch, Squad Deathmatch, Domination, and King of the Hill. EA also announced Escalation, in which teams compete to capture strategic control points. The reveal described maps spanning Egypt, Gibraltar, and New York.

- Two New Control Schemes: Classic Controls returns alongside two brand new options: Modern Controls allow you to perform special attacks with simple button combinations and are designed for players who want to fight without memorizing and practicing special move button combinations first. Dynamic Controls only require a press of the Auto-Attack button to perform attacks and is a great control type to use when you have friends and family over for a quick, casual game.
What changed after the beta
In an August 21, 2025 debrief, EA said beta feedback and data informed targeted changes. The planned adjustments included weapon recoil and tap-fire tuning; movement changes to reduce slide-to-jump momentum and repeated jumping; and changes to parachute physics. EA also said it was addressing unintended access to rooftops and out-of-bounds areas.
EA said it would lower Rush’s default player count. Breakthrough could support up to 64 players, while some launch layouts would use 48 or 64 players. EA described player count as a design choice that could vary by mode and map. The debrief also attributed more than 600,000 hours streamed and more than 30 million hours watched to the beta; EA’s cited passage does not specify the measurement platform or a precise collection window.
