Battlefield 6 launched on October 10, 2025, and is available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Its package combines a nine-mission campaign, class-based multiplayer, and Portal creation tools. Preorders have ended; maps and other content have continued to expand since launch, so older launch lists are not a complete picture of the current game.

PC requirements to check
EA’s launch preparation guide said Secure Boot is required for Javelin Anticheat. The product page lists 16 GB RAM, DirectX 12, and 55 GiB of storage as minimum requirements; system requirements and storage needs can change as the game is updated, so consult the live listing before installing. EA notes that its specification presets are not exhaustive and recommends adjusting in-game settings or using GPU optimization software for a specific PC.
What does the game include?
Single-player campaign
The campaign has nine missions and follows Dagger 13, a squad of U.S. Marine raiders fighting Pax Armata. EA’s launch materials place parts of the story in locations including Brooklyn and Cairo. EA’s launch announcement describes the campaign as a standalone component alongside multiplayer.

Multiplayer modes
EA lists Conquest, Breakthrough, Rush, Team Deathmatch, Squad Deathmatch, Domination, King of the Hill, and Escalation among the modes. Escalation centers on two teams competing for strategic control points. These modes cover both large-scale battles and smaller team-based matches; their availability can depend on the current in-game playlist.
Portal
Portal is Battlefield 6’s toolset for customizing existing experiences or creating player-made ones. It gives players an alternative to standard matchmaking, with the specific experiences available depending on what creators publish and what is currently accessible in game.
What are the four classes?
EA identifies four core classes, each with distinct perks and gadgets. The official materials do not establish a universal best class or provide a current balance ranking, so choose based on the role you want to play and your squad’s needs.
| Class | Role-oriented way to choose |
|---|---|
| Assault | Choose it if you want to focus on direct combat and pushing forward. |
| Support | Choose it if you want to help keep teammates in the fight. |
| Engineer | Choose it if you prefer equipment and vehicle-related support. |
| Recon | Choose it if you favor observation and ranged engagements. |
Those descriptions are broad play-style guides, not claims about comparative effectiveness. EA’s official product page confirms the class names and their distinct perks and gadgets.

Which maps are in Battlefield 6?
There is no complete current map roster in the cited EA pages. Launch materials described global settings including Egypt, Gibraltar, and New York; the product page also refers to Southern California, New York City, and Germany. These are examples and setting descriptions, not a definitive list of every map available now.
Maps and content added after launch
EA’s Season 1 announcement named Blackwell Fields, set in Southern California, and Eastwood, in Southern California suburbs. It also introduced Strikepoint, a 4v4, one-life mode with short rounds and a single capture point. The announcement described a 100-tier Battle Pass for that Season 1 Rogue Operations pass; that figure applies to the pass announced in 2025, not necessarily any current pass.
On August 6, 2026, Battlefield Studios announced an August 18 Top Gun update. Its announced content included the return of Wake Island with a greater naval emphasis, Carrier Strike, REDSEC’s Fighter Sweep Gauntlet mission, two new two-seat jets, the Interdictor sniper rifle, and the USS Grant point of interest on Fort Lyndon. The announcement is dated; check the live game or current official updates to confirm availability and any later changes.

Can you still preorder Battlefield 6?
No. EA’s preorder offer ended October 9, 2025, before the game’s release. The Standard and Phantom preorders included the Tombstone Pack; Phantom Edition also included additional cosmetics, weapon packages, an XP boost set, and a Battlefield Pro token with Battle Pass benefits. These are historical preorder terms, not current offers. EA’s launch preparation page records the end date and offer details.
What were the launch editions and prices?
At launch, EA announced the Standard Edition for USD $69.99 and the Phantom Edition for USD $99.99. Those were announcement prices, not verified current prices; regional prices and edition contents may differ now. Check your platform’s storefront for the price and what is included before buying. Phantom Edition’s announced extras were cosmetic and progression-related, including Phantom Squad skins, weapon packages, a vehicle skin, a combat knife skin, and a Battlefield Pro token.
What should buyers consider now?
- Check the current store listing: Prices, editions, and availability can vary by region and platform. The launch prices above are historical.
- Match the platform to your setup: PC players should review the live system requirements and Secure Boot guidance. The cited sources do not establish performance equivalence between PC and consoles.
- Pick a class by contribution: Consider whether you want to push, support teammates, work with vehicles, or scout rather than relying on an unsupported class ranking.
- Verify time-limited events: EA’s product page has displayed dated promotions, including a Season 4 free-trial notice for August 18–25, 2026. That window is past; do not assume it remains available.
EA’s launch messaging emphasized gunplay, destruction, and player freedom. That is the publisher’s description of its aims, not an independent assessment of how the game plays.
