EA unveiled the first Battlefield 6 reveal trailer on July 24, 2025. Its multiplayer reveal followed on July 31, and the game launched on October 10, 2025. The trailer’s American imagery does not confirm a civil war: EA’s stated premise is a wider 2027 crisis involving a weakened NATO and the private military corporation Pax Armata.
What the reveal trailer established
In its July 24, 2025 announcement, EA described Pax Armata as a private military corporation bankrolled by former NATO states, with an agenda that threatens global conflict. EA said the trailer introduced the setup for both multiplayer and the return of a single-player campaign. Read EA’s reveal announcement.
The phrase “divided America” appeared in Windows Central’s headline and interpretation of the trailer’s American imagery. It should not be treated as a confirmed description of the game’s plot: EA’s later official account focuses on an international crisis and a weakened NATO, not an established American civil war.
When was the Battlefield 6 multiplayer reveal?
The multiplayer reveal took place on Thursday, July 31, 2025, at 11:30 a.m. PDT (2:30 p.m. EDT). It was a past event, not an upcoming broadcast. EA also announced creator streams in Los Angeles, Berlin, Paris, and London, followed by an event in Hong Kong on August 2, 2025.

EA said Battlefield Studios brings together Criterion Games, DICE, Motive Studio, and Ripple Effect. Byron Beede, then senior vice president and general manager of Battlefield, described the teams as “four world-class teams developing the game as a single squad known as Battlefield Studios.” EA’s July 31 announcement contains the event details and reveal information.
What was the official story setting?
EA placed the fictional conflict in 2027. In its July 31 announcement, it said a high-profile assassination had led several European countries to leave NATO. With the alliance weakened, Pax Armata—a large private military corporation—moves to exploit the resulting power vacuum. That is the official premise established in the announcement; it does not confirm that the United States is in a civil war.

What did EA reveal about multiplayer?
Classes and combat
The reveal named four returning classes: Assault, Recon, Support, and Engineer. EA also introduced the Kinesthetic Combat System, describing updates to movement and gunplay. Examples included dragging and reviving teammates and mounting weapons to reduce recoil. Destruction was presented as a tactical tool for opening routes and creating flanking opportunities.
Maps, modes, and Portal
At the July 31 reveal, EA named Egypt, Gibraltar, and New York as launch map locations. The modes it listed were Conquest, Breakthrough, Rush, Team Deathmatch, Squad Deathmatch, Domination, King of the Hill, and the new mode Escalation. EA also described Portal as a toolset for creating Community Experiences.

Those were details announced at the multiplayer reveal, not a complete list of everything available at launch. In its October 10 launch announcement, EA named maps including Liberation Peak in Tajikistan, New Sobek City near Cairo, and Manhattan Bridge, alongside six other maps. The launch announcement provides that later framing.

EA announced Open Beta windows for August 9–10 and August 14–17, 2025. It also said early access would be available August 7 through streamer viewing. All of those dates have passed.
Battlefield 6 launched October 10, 2025, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC through Steam, the EA app, and the Epic Games Store, according to EA’s launch announcement.
