Battlefield 6 is at its best when it leans into large-scale multiplayer: its gunplay and familiar modes are the strongest parts of the package in the launch-period reviews consulted. The nine-mission campaign is a weaker reason to buy, while progression and weapon customization drew criticism in one review. If you want the series’ established multiplayer rhythm, it looks like a welcome return; if you mainly want a compelling single-player story, be more cautious.
Is Battlefield 6 worth it?
That depends chiefly on what you want from it. PC Gamer praised the satisfying gunplay and familiar Battlefield structure, while TechRadar also judged the online modes to be the game’s strongest element. Those are the opinions of two reviewers writing around the October 2025 launch, not a measurement of player consensus. PC Gamer’s review and TechRadar’s review give useful context for the trade-off.
- Consider it if: you’re looking for large-scale multiplayer, familiar Battlefield modes, and class-based play.
- Be cautious if: your priority is a strong single-player story, or you’re especially invested in rapid early progression and rewarding weapon attachments.
PC Gamer’s review specifically criticized slow early progression, some class-specific unlock challenges, and attachments it found uninteresting. Treat those as one reviewer’s findings, not a guarantee of how every player will experience progression.
What does Battlefield 6 include?
A nine-mission campaign
Electronic Arts describes the single-player campaign as nine missions following Dagger 1-3, an elite US Marine raider squad, in a near-future conflict against Pax Armata. That is EA’s description of the premise, rather than an independent assessment of the story. EA’s launch announcement gives the official details.

All-Out Warfare and other multiplayer modes
EA’s FAQ names Conquest, Breakthrough, and Rush among the All-Out Warfare modes, alongside five additional multiplayer modes. TechRadar describes four classes—Assault, Engineer, Support, and Recon—with distinct gear and abilities. EA’s Battlefield 6 FAQ lists the modes; the class descriptions are from TechRadar’s launch-period review.
Portal creation tools
Battlefield Portal lets players create and play community experiences, and EA says those experiences can be played across supported platforms. Creation takes place in a browser; EA recommends using a PC browser. Portal is a distinct reason to consider the package if making or trying community-built experiences appeals to you.
Is Battlefield 6 good for single-player?
The campaign is included, but the reviews consulted give more reason to buy for multiplayer than for the story. TechRadar calls the campaign the weaker element and advises caution for readers primarily seeking a strong single-player experience. That is a review judgment, not a claim that the campaign has no value to any player.
EA’s official campaign information establishes its nine-mission structure and premise, but a mission count alone says little about story quality or variety. If the campaign is your main reason to buy, read the full TechRadar review before deciding.

What platforms is Battlefield 6 on?
EA says Battlefield 6 released October 10, 2025, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. EA lists PC availability through Steam, the EA app, and the Epic Games Store, and says the game is offered digitally and at retail. Retail format, stock, and price depend on your region and retailer; check the current listing before buying. EA’s launch announcement covers the release, and its FAQ covers platforms and purchase channels.
Console performance options
EA says PS5 and Xbox Series X have performance and image-quality modes. Its FAQ lists targets of 60 FPS in fidelity mode and 80+ FPS in performance mode on PS5 and Series X, and 60 FPS on Series S. These are EA’s stated targets, not independently measured results; actual performance can depend on the game version and conditions.
Can my PC run Battlefield 6?
Compare your PC with EA’s listed specifications before purchasing, and verify the current requirements on EA’s purchase page. EA’s FAQ and purchase page currently give different storage figures, so the table preserves which source states each number instead of treating them as interchangeable.
| Requirement | Minimum (EA FAQ) | Recommended (EA FAQ) |
|---|---|---|
| Operating system | Windows 10 | Windows 11 |
| Processor | Intel Core i5-8400 or AMD Ryzen 5 2600 | Intel Core i7-10700 or AMD Ryzen 7 3700X |
| Memory | 16 GB RAM | 16 GB RAM |
| Graphics | NVIDIA RTX 2060, AMD Radeon RX 5600 XT 6 GB, or Intel Arc A380 | NVIDIA RTX 3060 Ti, AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT, or Intel Arc B580 |
| DirectX | DirectX 12 | DirectX 12 |
| Network | Broadband | Broadband |
| Storage | 60 GB available space | 90 GB available space |
The figures in both columns come from EA’s FAQ. EA’s current purchase page instead lists 55 GiB minimum HDD space and 80 GiB recommended SSD space. Those are figures from a different EA page, not replacements for the FAQ values; check EA’s purchase page for the current listing.

Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Does Battlefield 6 support controllers on PC?
Yes. EA says PC players can use Xbox and PlayStation controllers, as well as third-party controllers. An EA account is required for Steam players; players who buy through Epic need the EA app and an EA account. EA also says an internet connection is required to download critical updates and to play. See EA’s FAQ for the current account and connection requirements.
What accessibility options are listed?
TechRadar reports options including subtitles and font-size adjustment, icon-color customization, remappable controls, some text-to-speech features, and the ability to disable controller vibration. These specific features may help with particular needs, but they do not establish that the game offers comprehensive accessibility. Check the game’s current options and TechRadar’s review for more detail.
Which edition should you buy?
EA’s launch materials described a Phantom Edition with cosmetic items and a Battlefield Pro/Season 1 package in addition to the full game. Those are launch-era details, not confirmation that the edition or those contents are currently offered. The launch prices—$69.99 for Standard and $99.99 for Phantom—are historical prices published by EA in 2025, not current price guidance. Check EA’s launch announcement for that historical information and verify present editions, contents, and prices with a current retailer before buying. No gameplay advantage from the listed cosmetic extras is established here.
