The strongest evidence in PCMag’s accessible review record is its 80/100 score and a summary praising the game’s dynamic multiplayer gunplay; that summary does not establish PCMag’s view of the campaign. The game also includes a single-player campaign and community creation tools, but platform, subscription and PC hardware requirements matter before you buy.
What is Battlefield 6, and when did it launch?
Battlefield 6 launched on October 10, 2025, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and PC. PC players can get it through Steam, the EA app or the Epic Games Store. EA describes its setting as a near-future conflict involving NATO and the private military corporation Pax Armata. The package combines a single-player campaign, large-scale multiplayer and Battlefield Portal creation tools.
EA’s launch announcement described multiplayer modes including returning Conquest, Breakthrough and Rush, alongside the new Escalation mode. The official PlayStation UK FAQ says primary multiplayer modes support up to 64 players. That is a stated mode capacity, not a live player-count figure.
What does PCMag’s review say?
PCMag’s October 9, 2025 review is listed by Metacritic at 80/100. Metacritic’s short summary of the review praises Battlefield 6’s chaotic, dynamic multiplayer gunplay. Because the full PCMag review is not available in the accessible record, that summary cannot support a specific claim about PCMag’s assessment of the campaign, individual modes or technical performance.

Which version should you choose?
PlayStation 5
The PlayStation release is for PS5 only, according to the official PlayStation UK FAQ; there is no PS4 version. Online multiplayer requires PlayStation Plus. Is Battlefield 6 worth buying?
Consider Battlefield 6 if the main draw is large-scale, high-energy multiplayer: that is the part most clearly supported by PCMag’s available review summary, and the announced mode lineup includes both familiar series staples and Escalation. It also offers a campaign and Portal tools, but the accessible PCMag record does not establish how well the campaign performs, so use a separate full campaign review if that is your deciding factor.
Before checkout, confirm the edition, regional price and platform-specific conditions. A price visible in an online retailer panel is not evidence of current UK availability or a stable price. No verified sales or player-count figure is available here, so review scores should not be treated as a measure of how many people are playing.
