Yes—Battlefield 6 has mostly positive critic reviews, but its Metacritic score is eight points below Battlefield 2’s PC score. Metacritic lists Battlefield 6 at 83/100 and Battlefield 2 for PC at 91/100. That comparison is not platform-matched, and Steam user reviews tell a more mixed story about Battlefield 6.
How Battlefield 6’s critic reviews compare with Battlefield 2
| Game and scope | Metascore | Critic reviews | Critic-review distribution |
|---|---|---|---|
| Battlefield 6, general multi-platform page | 83/100 — Generally Favorable | 71 | 94% positive, 4% mixed, 1% negative |
| Battlefield 2, PC | 91/100 | 55 | 54 positive, 1 mixed |
Metacritic’s Battlefield 6 page reports the score and review breakdown for Battlefield 6; its Battlefield 2 listing is specifically the PC version. Both pages were accessed in 2026. The displayed gap is eight points, with Battlefield 6 lower.
That gap is an aggregator comparison, not a controlled, platform-to-platform test. The cited Battlefield 2 score is explicitly for PC, while the Battlefield 6 page is a general multi-platform summary. The figures show how critics’ reviews aggregated on those pages; they do not establish that Battlefield 2 is universally the better game or more enjoyable to play today.
What player reviews say about Battlefield 6
Steam’s English-language user reviews are less positive than the critic aggregate. In the surfaced Steam listing, 66% of 155,434 reviews are positive overall, which Steam classifies as Mixed. Its recent-review window is also Mixed: 47% of 4,461 reviews are positive. Those figures describe different review populations and periods from Metacritic’s critic scores, so they should not be combined into one rating.
