When did Battlefield 6 Season 1 begin?
EA’s official Battlefield 6 Update 1.1.1.0 says the update went live on October 28, 2025, with Season 1 content—including the Battle Pass and seasonal features—unlocking at 15:00 UTC. EA described the update as including technical and gameplay changes, fixes, balance changes, and quality-of-life improvements.

What is the Wicked Grin skin?
PC Gamer described Wicked Grin as a bright-blue-camouflage variant of a default NATO assault outfit. Its high-visibility color and stylized appearance made it a conspicuous example in a broader discussion about whether Battlefield 6’s cosmetics should look realistic or simply remain recognizably military-themed.
Why did players disagree about the outfit?
The argument turned on different interpretations of “grounded,” rather than a published definition for this specific skin. Critics felt the bright color and design broke with the restrained, realistic look they expected. Other players argued that the outfit remained within a military aesthetic, or that the reaction was excessive compared with more fantastical cosmetics in other shooters.

GamesRadar+ documented both sides of the response, including individual players’ complaints about colorful, unrealistic outfits and counterarguments that the cosmetics were still military-themed. Phrases such as “what are these meme skins?” and “So much for realistic and grounded” were reported examples of player reactions, not evidence of a representative survey or consensus.
Was Wicked Grin removed from Battlefield 6?
In an October 31, 2025 report, GamesRadar+ said Wicked Grin appeared to have been removed after the backlash. The report also noted that no official developer statement confirmed the removal or explained the outfit’s status. That makes “reported removal” the careful description; the coverage does not establish whether the skin later returned or whether it is currently available.

What the backlash does—and does not—show
The dispute illustrates a tension between two standards for military-shooter cosmetics: realistic colors and equipment on one hand, and a broadly military genre fit that permits stylization on the other. The cited coverage records individual reactions, not a reliable measure of how the whole player base felt. A thread’s vote or comment count is likewise not a population statistic, and the available reporting does not establish an effect on sales, retention, or other player behavior.
Season 1 also drew criticism of the Battle Pass and live-service format, but that is a separate issue. It should not be treated as evidence for or against Wicked Grin’s visual fit.
