EA announced on October 16, 2025, that Battlefield 6 had sold “over 7 million copies and counting” during its first three days. EA described that as the biggest opening in Battlefield history. The figure refers to copies sold in that launch window; it is not a claim about revenue, lifetime sales, or the performance of shooters or games generally. EA’s announcement did not provide a sales-measurement methodology or independent verification.
What other launch records did EA report?
EA also reported these engagement figures for the three-day launch weekend:
- Over 172 million online matches played.
- Over 15 million hours watched on streaming services.
- The highest concurrent-player count in Battlefield history. EA did not disclose the player total or explain how it measured the record in this announcement.
These are publisher-reported figures; the release does not establish that they were independently audited.

When did Battlefield 6 launch, and on which platforms?
EA announced a launch date of October 10, 2025, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC through Steam, the EA app, and the Epic Games Store. Its July 31, 2025, reveal announcement described the planned release and platforms. These dated announcements establish the launch plans and date, not the current availability or content status of the game.
What did EA say about the launch?
Battlefield General Manager Byron Beede said: “Battlefield 6 was built with our fans.” EA’s October 16 announcement also thanked the team and community for the launch.
