EA listed the Sledgehammer and XFGM-6D Recon Drone exploit as fixed in Battlefield 6 Update 1.1.1.5. The exploit let players ascend and reach unintended areas by standing on the drone and hitting it with the Sledgehammer. EA scheduled the update for November 11, 2025, at 09:00 UTC; its announcement does not confirm when deployment finished on every platform.
What did the exploit do?
EA described an exploit that let players gain height and access unintended areas by standing on an XFGM-6D Recon Drone and striking it with the Sledgehammer. The patch notes do not explain the underlying physics or collision behavior, say how often the exploit occurred, or identify every affected map. Terms such as “drone-surfing” and “drone/sledgehammer glitch” have also been used in coverage and community discussion, but EA’s notes call it an exploit.
When did Update 1.1.1.5 roll out?
EA announced the update on November 7, 2025, and scheduled its rollout for November 11 at 09:00 UTC. That is the announced schedule, not independent confirmation that every platform completed deployment at that exact time. EA’s Update 1.1.1.5 changelog is the primary source for the date, time, and fixes.
What else did the update change?
EA characterized Update 1.1.1.5 as a quality-of-life update addressing vehicle countermeasure reliability, weapon accuracy, Battle Royale match flow, and general stability. Its listed changes covered several parts of the game:
