Choose Battlefield 6 if you play on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, or PC and want a solo campaign plus Battlefield Portal. Choose Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 if you need PS4 or Xbox One support, want a co-op campaign, or are buying mainly for competitive multiplayer or round-based Zombies. There is no universal winner: this is a feature-fit recommendation based on the publishers’ descriptions, not a hands-on quality verdict.
Check your platform first
Platform compatibility is the quickest way to narrow the choice. EA lists Battlefield 6 for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC through Steam, the EA app, and Epic Games Store. It does not list PS4 or Xbox One. Activision lists Black Ops 7 for PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Xbox PC, Battle.net, and Steam. If you play on a PS4 or Xbox One, Black Ops 7 is the compatible option of these two.

Both games have already launched: EA lists Battlefield 6’s release date as October 10, 2025, and Activision lists Black Ops 7’s as November 14, 2025. Check the official Battlefield 6 FAQ and Black Ops 7 game page for their platform details.
Compare the campaign and other modes

The practical distinction is the mix: Battlefield 6 pairs a solo story with Portal, while Black Ops 7 pairs a co-op-capable campaign with several multiplayer sizes and Zombies. Factor in subscriptions, editions, and format
Black Ops 7 has a subscription route for eligible Game Pass subscribers. Activision says an active eligible subscription is required; access depends on plan terms and region, so verify what your current plan includes before treating it as an alternative to buying the game. EA describes Battlefield 6 as available in Standard and Phantom editions, with physical and digital availability. Phantom adds cosmetics and a Battlefield Pro token; it is not required to get the base game.
Activision describes Standard and Vault digital editions for Black Ops 7, as well as physical console editions; it says physical editions are not available for PC. Compare the same platform, edition, and format when checking prices. The publishers’ launch information does not establish current local prices or stock, and an eligible subscription may change your out-of-pocket cost. Which game is the better fit?
Buy Battlefield 6 if…
- You play on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, or PC and want a single-player campaign.
- Creating or browsing Portal servers and player-built experiences is a draw.
- You prefer Battlefield’s mode mix and large-scale shooter identity.
Buy Black Ops 7 if…
- You need to play on PS4 or Xbox One.
- You want a campaign you can play with a squad, or plan to spend time in round-based Zombies.
- You prefer its competitive multiplayer options, including the launch-listed 6v6 and 20v20 formats.
- You have an eligible Game Pass subscription and its current terms cover the game in your region.

- Confirm your platform. If you play on PS4 or Xbox One, choose Black Ops 7.
