No: EA’s latest listed Battlefield 6 update documents targeted fixes, not evidence that the game or every platform was broadly broken. Update 1.4.3.5, published September 28, 2026 and scheduled to download September 30, addressed issues across menus, the HUD, social features, modes, maps, AI behavior and stability. Some problems reported after the previous update were still under investigation in EA’s September 16 status post, and the sources available as of October 8 do not confirm their final status.
What is the latest Battlefield 6 update?
EA’s update index lists Game Update 1.4.3.5 as the newest update at the time of the latest available notes. EA published the notes on September 28, 2026, and scheduled the download across platforms for September 30 at 08:00 UTC. EA described it as a smaller quality-of-life update with targeted changes, rather than a broad overhaul.
The headline phrase “broken everything” is not supported by the documented changes. EA’s notes identify specific defects and fixes; they do not report a global outage, say all players were affected, or establish that every platform was experiencing widespread problems.
What Update 1.4.3.5 says it fixed
EA’s September 30 update notes document these changes:

- End-of-round loading: Quitting to the main menu at the End of Round screen should no longer lead to an endless loading screen.
- Spectator stability: EA resolved a crash that could occur in Spectator mode during large-scale experiences.
- PS5 optics: The edges on a listed set of scopes should display at their intended thickness. The issue was specifically described as affecting some scopes on PlayStation 5.
- Downed-state minimap: The minimap now appears while a player is downed.
- Wake Island: EA removed two invisible barriers near Objective E that could obstruct movement inside a bunker.
- Carrier Strike: The APHEI Cannon can no longer damage the carrier.
- Tsuru Reef: AI-controlled vehicles should navigate shallow water more reliably and avoid becoming submerged.
- Other changes: The notes also cover End of Round navigation, Battlefield Coins purchase navigation, Phantom Program reward icons, a floating zipline at the Tech Campus point of interest, and platform icons in Battle Royale’s Proximity Chat Recent Interactions menu.
These are discrete corrections across different parts of the game—not evidence that all of Battlefield 6 was broken. The PS5 scope issue and the downed-state minimap issue have specific fixes documented in the update notes.
What was reported after Update 1.4.3.0?
In a September 16 Battlefield Comms status post, EA said it was investigating reports of weapon attachments going missing or switching after Season 4 Phase 3 began. The post also described Battle Royale matchmaking issues affecting some players, but not all players in all regions, and said the issue was difficult to isolate.

The same post said Proximity Chat had been disabled while EA investigated an issue. It also said EA had identified the downed-state minimap problem and planned to fix it in a later client update; 1.4.3.5 subsequently documents that fix. The September 30 notes do not explicitly close out the attachment or matchmaking investigations, so their final status is not established by these sources.
Is Proximity Chat available now?
EA introduced Proximity Chat as a live test initially for REDSEC Battle Royale. Its 1.4.3.0 notes said players could switch it on or off during testing. EA said it would use player feedback and live-game information to adjust audio range, clarity, moderation and gameplay effects before bringing the feature to Multiplayer at a later date. The notes specify that up to four speakers can be heard at once.

Although the 1.4.3.5 notes fix platform icons in the Proximity Chat Recent Interactions menu, that interface change does not establish whether the feature was switched back on. The sources available as of October 8, 2026 do not verify its current availability.
