A report published July 20, 2025, said a creator had posted an image of a package marked “Battlefield 6”—a hint that an announcement might be near, not a leak of the game itself. EA unveiled the first reveal trailer four days later and held the multiplayer reveal on July 31. That buildup is now history: EA’s official page lists Battlefield 6 updates and Season 5 news in October 2026.
What the Battlefield 6 leak report actually showed
HotHardware reported that creator Doom49 posted on X that they had received a large, gray, rugged box bearing the words “Battlefield 6.” The post was later deleted; HotHardware said a screenshot was shared on a Battlefield subreddit. HotHardware’s July 20, 2025 report is secondary reporting about a now-deleted post.
The reported image suggested a promotional package had reached a creator, which could indicate that an announcement was approaching. It did not establish who made the box, what it contained, or whether the image was authentic. Nothing in the report confirmed that a game build, gameplay footage, or features had leaked.
EA’s reveal timeline confirmed the 2025 forecast
July 24: First reveal trailer unveiled
On July 24, EA announced that it had unveiled the first Battlefield 6 reveal trailer and scheduled a multiplayer reveal for July 31 at 11:30 a.m. PDT / 2:30 p.m. EDT. EA described the project as a collaboration across Battlefield Studios, comprising Criterion Games, DICE, Motive Studio, and Ripple Effect. EA’s July 24 announcement also cited 100 million players and 5 billion hours played as franchise-wide figures, not Battlefield 6-specific totals.

July 31: Multiplayer reveal held
EA said the global multiplayer reveal took place as scheduled on July 31. Its announcement named October 10, 2025, as the launch date and listed PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC via Steam, the EA app, and the Epic Games Store. EA’s July 31 announcement quoted Battlefield senior vice president and general manager Byron Beede: “We knew when we set out to create the future of Battlefield, we had to nail the fundamentals of what players have loved about the series for more than 20 years.”

The headline’s “coming soon” described the expectation in July 2025, not a current announcement tease. Battlefield 6 launched on October 10, 2025, and EA’s official Battlefield 6 page now carries October 2026 news and updates, including Season 5 and game update 1.4.3.5. The package remains an early, indirect clue to the reveal—not evidence that game content was leaked.
