Battlefield 6’s Battle Royale experience, Battlefield REDSEC, launched on October 28, 2025, at 8:00 a.m. Pacific Daylight Time (PDT), or 15:00 UTC. That exact hour was reported contemporaneously by PC Gamer, citing EA’s announcement; EA’s own launch post confirms REDSEC was live but does not print the time.
What time did Battlefield REDSEC launch?
REDSEC went live at 8:00 a.m. PDT on Tuesday, October 28, 2025 (15:00 UTC). The timestamp comes from PC Gamer’s contemporaneous report of EA’s announcement, rather than the accessible text of EA’s official REDSEC announcement, which says the experience was “now live” but does not give an hour.
The reported UTC time is useful when converting to a local time zone. The cited report gives one launch moment, not a separate region-by-region timetable published in the EA announcement.
Is this the same release time as Battlefield 6?
No. REDSEC’s Battle Royale launch was later than the base game’s launch. Battlefield 6 launched on October 10, 2025; REDSEC arrived on October 28. EA’s global release schedule covers the base game, not REDSEC, so its regional times should not be used as REDSEC release times.

What is Battlefield REDSEC?
REDSEC is Battlefield’s free-to-play experience, and Battle Royale is one of its modes. EA’s launch announcement also lists Gauntlet, a round-based elimination mode, and Portal, which offers custom experiences. EA said players could join friends who own Battlefield 6 without owning the base game themselves.
Launch-announced Battle Royale format
EA described Battle Royale at launch as a 100-player mode on Fort Lyndon, a Southern California beach community and military blacksite. The announced team formats were 25 squads of four or 50 duos. These are launch-announcement details and do not necessarily describe every later playlist or live-service update.
