How to find the Westerfeld novel
Look for Scott Westerfeld’s name and The Leviathan Trilogy. The publisher describes a fictional alternate history in which mechanized “Clanker” powers face British “Darwinists,” who use genetically fabricated creatures. Deryn is a girl posing as a boy in the British Air Service, while Alek is an heir posing as a commoner. They travel aboard the airship Leviathan during a peacekeeping mission that goes wrong; the giant Behemoth is presented as a British weapon. These are story elements, not historical events.
The publisher’s listing gives the hardcover a grade recommendation of 7 and up, ages 12–99, and a Lexile measure of 810L. Those are listing-specific guidance and metadata, not universal measures of suitability. Page counts and identifiers also depend on edition.

How to find the 2025 graphic novel
Check for Grant Sputore, Ryan Engle and Jay Martin’s names, or for the Dark Horse Books edition collecting Behemoth #1–#4. Its kaiju-survival premise distinguishes it from Westerfeld’s novel.

Behemoth appears in Job 40. Scholarly discussion treats the passage as a question of interpretation, not as a settled identification with a particular modern species. An Oxford repository document discusses the Hebrew form as an intensive or augmentative form associated with “great beast”; an SBL-hosted Job commentary characterizes Behemoth as a flesh-and-blood animal. Neither point establishes a consensus about which animal, if any, the text describes.
