As of October 4, 2026, this is no longer a current Commanders start/sit choice: Zach Ertz is listed with Philadelphia, while Ben Sinnott remains on Washington’s roster. Washington’s current depth chart places Sinnott third among its tight ends, so the available information does not support recommending him as the team’s established starter. For a historical 2025 comparison, Ertz was ahead of Sinnott on Washington’s Week 1 depth chart and finished with 50 catches, 504 yards and four touchdowns in 13 games.
Are Sinnott and Ertz Commanders teammates in 2026?
No. NFL.com’s 2026 roster lists Sinnott as an active Washington tight end, while its statistics page lists Ertz with Philadelphia. The title’s premise is therefore outdated for current fantasy decisions. NFL.com’s Washington roster and Ertz’s NFL.com statistics page establish those team listings.
Washington’s depth chart, updated September 9, 2026, lists Chig Okonkwo first, John Bates second and Sinnott third among tight ends. That secondary depth-chart listing is a role signal, not proof of weekly snaps, routes or targets. Ourlads’ Washington depth chart does not establish comparable current usage for Sinnott and Ertz.
Who was the better Washington fantasy option in 2025?
For the historical Washington comparison, Ertz had the clearer established role: the team’s September 2, 2025 Week 1 depth chart listed him ahead of Sinnott. NFL.com records Ertz with 50 receptions, 504 receiving yards and four receiving touchdowns in 13 Washington games that season. Those are season totals over 13 games, not a full 17-game line or a current projection. Washington’s 2025 Week 1 depth chart and NFL.com’s statistics page document the role and results.

That evidence supports Ertz as the more defensible 2025 choice if the decision was based on known team role and production. It does not establish a scoring-format-specific fantasy finish, weekly consistency, or a direct comparison of their targets and snaps; those details are not available in the cited material.
What does Ertz’s earlier Washington production show?
Ertz recorded 66 receptions, 654 receiving yards and seven receiving touchdowns in 17 games for Washington in 2024, according to NFL.com. His 2025 totals were lower, but the seasons also differ in games played: 17 in 2024 versus 13 in 2025. Neither historical line should be treated as a forecast for his 2026 Philadelphia role.

NFL.com’s statistics page also shows Ertz with Philadelphia for 2026 and one catch for nine yards in one game in the snapshot available here. That is an in-season record at the time the page was accessed, not a complete-season result or projection.

A current start/sit answer cannot be derived from the available evidence alone: it does not establish comparable 2026 targets, routes, snap shares, health, weekly production or fantasy projections for both players. Check the current week’s information before setting a lineup, and compare the factors that determine opportunity and scoring:
